It's strange what crops up when chatting with visiting randos in my local. I joked about something, making reference to the mexican beanie babies, and my Danish interlocutor immediately said "you've got to see this". I don't think I actually had a reason to expect her to know about the story, the joke was mostly an in-joke for my g/f. I'm glad that there are smart, and witty, people all over the place.
