That's a funky effect. However, I'm assuming pretty much all of the "stars" are just hot pixels?

Looks like altocumulus castellanus. Often a sign of some disturbed weather on the way. I usually associate them with summer thunderstorms after a hot day.

Crossing contrails are ten a penny but this is the first time I recall seeing two distrails making a classic X.

It was even clearer when I first spotted it but had spread out a bit by the time I could get into position for a photo.

That must confuse the Heck outta our friends over in the chemtrail community. Perhaps some secretive group of good guys flew a couple of planes through there with a big vacuum cleaner aboard rather than spraying equipment, and sucked up some of the Evile Chemicals (tm)?
