Glenn Beck's Conspiracy Theory About People Calling him a Conspiracy Theorist

Since you listened to the interview then you should have been able to answer your own question.
TIM:Abdulrahman [Ali Alharbi] had heard about the marathon from his teacher. He was planning on meeting some friends for lunch and thought that, on his way to lunch, he would first stop at the marathon. He took the subway toward the finish line. He saw runners who had already completed the run sitting there. He was a bit upset with himself for arriving so late but decided to continue walking up along Boylston Street to watch the other runners cross the finish line. After a few minutes, he thought he’d continue to walk ahead. With the finish line now behind him, he kept on walking. He was there for about 10 minutes.

AA: If my embassy didn’t help me out to rent a hotel, to eat, and all this stuff, I would be homeless or something. They took my wallet when I was in the hospital, so they took my credit card and everything I have. Everything. My laptop my iPad, my, even my camera. I couldn’t take my exams because I didn’t have any I.D.

I saw this piece first on CNN and then looked up the article online. So you're saying CNN supports terrorists too? Please provide proof of your claims with a link showing that Amina Chaudary supports terrorists.

yes i listened to it and did a little research on the interviewer , head member if the MSA . supporters of terrorist , next time maybe a link from CAIR ? Or Al Queda
Now that I've pointed out your mistake do you still think Amina Chaudary and TIM are biased towards and/or support terror?

I don't know if this is worth "adding", but Glenn Beck recently admitted to his audience that he has "mental problems".

But first, from just last November, 2014:

(EDIT....wrong copy/paste video....Please Stand By)...ahhh...
Here:

A quote from the above video, time reference 5:30...
Chiropractic neurology appears to me to be the very definition of pseudoscience - it has all the trappings of a legitimate profession with a complex set of beliefs and practices, but there is no underlying scientific basis for any of it.

MORE re: Glenn Beck:

I wonder if this sort of thing relates to other CTs in the world? Something to ponder.....

ALSO to edit in....HOW much of this relates to the CT community? What I mean is....SO many people can appear to be sane, but spout nonsense.

It is a function of the Human brain (IMO).

We ALL live (ultimately) only within our own brains (or, some call it the "mind"). I really do not know how to move forward. (RE: Glenn Beck).

Am I sane? Are you?? (Sorry, just being rhetorical.....).

Considering how easy it is for some people to get hooked on oxycodone I'll give Limbaugh a pass...or where you talking about the Viagra?
Hooked on Viagra would imply the addiction is not actually the drug.:p

And yes, oxy is apparently very easy to develop a dependence on. Some level of "pass" is due. Any derisive comments he made wrt addiction and programs for such, would be however , tainted.

Eta:eek:ops corrected

Addiction is a disease regardless of the dependency. I don't care if it's sex, drugs, gambling, or alcohol, it's has to do with a chemical imbalance in the brain. You can't give a pass to someone because they are hooked on opiates, but not to someone who is addicted to sex. If sex is their addiction, then viagra and girls feed that addiction.

Fine.

I'll give Limbaugh a pass on any f addiction illness he has/had.
After all he is so willing to do the same.

actually a physical addiction (ie opiates) is a lot different than a behavioral addiction. But I'm pretty sure this is all off topic.

I'm guessing some murderers probably don't like being referred to as "murderer"
since the word undeniably has gradually taken on some very ugly connotations.

Maybe the bad murderers just spoiled the term for the good murderers
and now it really is unfair to refer to those who murder as a "murderer."

Or maybe if they really, didn't want to be called murderers, they ought consider cutting way back on the murdering.

If folks that constantly create, believe, spread and/or promote (etc.) dubious conspiracy theories
are offended by being linked to the kind of behavior typical of the
folks that constantly create, believe, spread and/or promote (etc.) dubious conspiracy theories...
well...there is a way out:

If one feels shamed by being labelled a conspiracy theorist, one can always cut way back on the conspiracy theories.

I'm still floored by the revelation(above) that Limbaugh has weighed in against people who have problems performing simple addition. The uncaring bastard! ;)

Limbaugh's empathy for people suffering the effects of illnesses such as Parkinson's probably stems from his fight with addiction.

Isn't mental illness worth a "pass" also then? The addict makes a choice to pick up the drug.

How does an addict know they are an addict prior to picking up the drug, and in many cases such as opiates, it's often prescribed to you by Dr.'s first. As is in the case of Rush and millions of other Americans and people across this planet. This is why the DEA and Dr.'s are cracking down on pain killer prescriptions across the states. You used to get a tooth pulled and a Dr would write you 30 percocets, now you're lucky if they give you motrin.

I do agree however, that in the case with street drugs or alcohol the initial "bad" choice was made to experiment with the drug, but still the person experimenting probably didn't ever think they will be addicted to it. I haven't met one addict who said they tried drugs because they wanted to be addicts. In most cases addicts tried drugs or alcohol to escape from the horrors of their lives or past.

Well then I guess I am just an uncaring bastage. Sure mental illness and addiction sufferers are to be pitied and their actions to be excused on compassionate grounds.

What harm could they do?

I wouldn't say that, most people who haven't dealt with it or experienced it through friends and family feel exactly how you do.

Well what is being said?

I say that the conspiracy memes and paranoia espoused by Beck does society harm. I say that the vitriol and hate from Limbaugh is detrimental to society.

I say that giving a platform to mentally compromised persons does harm to society.

BTW what makes you think I have not experienced the effects of addiction or mental illness on friends, family or myself?

That would put me in a minority.

I would agree if they were advocating their addictions. But how many people in power have been mentally compromised. We can cite Presidents like Kennedy who was according to some addicted to pain killers and occasionally used cocaine to megalomaniacs. People in power or who have a platform are just like everyone else in society. They have their issues too, and in some cases it's probably why they are powerful or have a platform. Because they understand or can connect with everyday people...

Neither mental illness or addiction is to be pitied. If anything is to be pitied it is the unwillingness or inability of some some people to acknowledge or get help for either. In Beck's case if he has opted for Chiropractic Neurology to treat a genuine mental illness then he is the equivalent of a cancer patient that has opted for cannabis oil or Laetrile instead of conventional treatments. They may get a boost from the placebo effect but they still have the disease and it is still untreated.

It's possible that Beck could be over exaggerating this condition too, because I remember earlier this year he came out and said that he had some type of digestive system issues, like an allergic reaction to gluten or something like that, and that he was not well. But then he never really said anything about it again from what I heard. I just think he has the tendency to be kind of a drama queen at times..but who knows.

I remember that too, and I even remember him discussing how he thought he was being poisoned or targeted...

Ive dealt with it with friends and family. addicts, alcoholics, no of course they dont choose to be, but there is a point of realization that either one stop or you cant. In fact in the case of alcoholics, some choose to give up everything they have before they'll give up the drug. I give more of a pass to the mentally ill, as their illnesses sometimes convince them they're not ill.

Indeed. My best friend in high school alienated all around him, blew two marriages, before he stopped drinking. Years later we got together and went to dinner. He told me he came to a decisive moment one night. It was either quit drinking or commit suicide. He saw no other choices.
