Debunked: IPCC warns not to stop chemtrails, aka 'solar radiation management'

This is bunk via headline. The idea that they are trying to convey is that that chemtrails are ongoing and the IPCC says we should not stop.

But that's flat wrong. The reality is that the IPCC is talking about possible Solar Radiation Management in the future, and that if we do start it, we would have to commit to continuing it for a long time, especially if there are not drastic reductions in carbon emissions. It's actually an argument against doing SRM in the future.

India does not such thing. They simple have programs that measure aerosol pollution.

Overall, the IPCC has “medium confidence” that these persistent contrails and their induced cirrus clouds do not change surface temperatures on the planet. This contradicts what scientists found during the 3-day grounding of all US planes after 9/11 (except those scooting Saudis out of the country). Ground temperatures increased 2-3 ºC during the absence of contrails, persistent or not.

Which is also not true, the range of temperatures increased, the average temperature changed very little, and most of the effect is now thought to be due to the weather.

Methods that aim to deliberately alter the climate system to counter climate change, termed geoengineering, have been proposed. Limited evidence precludes a comprehensive quantitative assessment of both Solar Radiation Management (SRM) and Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) and their impact on the climate system. CDR methods have biogeochemical and technological limitations to their potential on a global scale. There is insufficient knowledge to quantify how much CO2 emissions could be partially offset by CDR on a century timescale. Modelling indicates that SRM methods, if realizable, have the potential to substantially offset a global temperature rise, but they would also modify the global water cycle, and would not reduce ocean acidification. If SRM were terminated for any reason, there is high confidence that global surface temperatures would rise very rapidly to values consistent with the greenhouse gas forcing. I am unsure what the Indians have "admitted to", but the 2 other experiments listed are
1/ Intercontinental Chemical Transport Experiment - home page - a quick look at the platforms (aircraft and satellites) used shows that this "experiment" consists of MEASURING aerosols.

2/ The European Integrated project on Aerosol Cloud Climate and Air Quality interactions (EUCAARI) is similarly measurement -

EUCAARI started on 1 January 2007 and ended on 31 December 2010 leaving a rich legacy including: (a) a comprehensive database with a year of observations of the physical, chemical and optical properties of aerosol particles over Europe, (b) comprehensive aerosol measurements in four developing countries, (c) a database of airborne measurements of aerosols and clouds over Europe during May 2008, (d) comprehensive modeling tools to study aerosol processes from nano to global scale and their effects on climate and air quality. This kind of article is shamefully outrageous agitprop and should be the end of anyone ever taking Rady Ananda and any outlet that carried this article seriously.

Anyone who does carry this article clearly doesn't care about confirming information using primary source material. Thanks for getting after this one.

And apparently she doesn't want to comment on the 10 years of Indian experiments until the book comes out! What a surprise!

Makes you wonder how the aerosols got there to measure in the first place doesn't it?
 
I think this is the research that was done in India:

During March–May 2006, an extensive, multi-institution, multi-instrument, and multi-platform integrated field experiment ‘Integrated Campaign for Aerosols, gases and Radiation Budget’ (ICARB) was carried out under the Geosphere Biosphere Programme of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO-GBP). The objective of this largest and most exhaustive field campaign, ever conducted in the Indian region, was to characterize the physico-chemical properties and radiative effects of atmospheric aerosols and trace gases over the Indian landmass and the adjoining oceanic regions of the Arabian Sea, northern Indian Ocean, and Bay of Bengal through intensive, simultaneous observations. A network of ground-based observatories (over the mainland and islands), a dedicated ship cruise over the oceanic regions using a fully equipped research vessel, the Sagar Kanya, and altitude profiling over selected regions using an instrumented aircraft and balloonsondes formed the three segments of this integrated experiment, which were carried out in tandem. This paper presents an overview of the ICARB field experiment, the database generated, and some of its interesting outcomes though these are preliminary in nature.
