NewsNation (home of Ross Coulthart) journalist Rob Jones claims Kozik acts as a gatekeeper of UAP- related material, and had a role in denying some politicians (including Eric Burlison) access to a site supposedly linked to UFOs:

It might be unlikely Burlison and Kozik are associates / confederates, though Kozik probably knows of Burlison, Burlison might know Kozik.

I suspect Kozik is getting attention and criticism from UFO enthusiasts just because of his job, which appears to involve some supervisory/ advisory responsibilities for AARO. He will have other responsibilities under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense Intelligence, and part of that might include decisions on requests for access to some sensitive sites.
Being an elected politician in many democracies does not confer an automatic right to visit every defence/ intelligence site that they might be interested in.

There is documentary evidence Kozik works as part of a hierarchical chain, as we might expect. He is unlikely to be a sole "gatekeeper" of UAP- related information.

The records also capture friction between Congress and the Pentagon over AARO's responsibilities. During a Senate briefing on drone incursions, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand pressed officials on why the Department lacked a central database for unmanned aerial system (UAS) incursions, arguing that AARO should serve that function.

A bit off-topic, but re. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand's proposal, there might be very good reasons why AARO, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, should not have the lead on investigating UAS (uncrewed aerial systems- drones etc..) Drones are known technology, they are not anomalous.
They might be the cause of some reported UAP, but so are airliners. AARO shouldn't take over the FAA's remit.
Various branches of the United States military have decades of experience operating UAS, and developing / using counter-UAS systems. Millions, probably billions of dollars have gone into this. AARO is essentially a modest office-based effort for investigating unusual reports.
Much better-resourced organisations (e.g. NORAD) are responsible for the air defence of the USA and enforcement of air policing.
Making AARO the lead organisation for investigating UAS (possibly including those of less friendly states) doesn't really make much sense in defense/ security terms.

Do a search online for "drone pilot license", what pops up?

Drones are under the FAA. And I would bet they have far more people just on the administration of drone pilots licenses than the entire staff of AARO. The FAA does aircraft pilots licenses and drone pilots licenses fit right into that mission, keeping the skies safe from bad pilots.
OF course people trying to kill AARO might try to push things, either shoving AARO into the FAA where it would get swamped or saying if it can't do drones what good is it so disband it.

I don't know what Kozik's job description is but having a single point of contact (POC) for requests from Congress for access to places and info makes a lot of sense. Too many people in Congress have contacts with military people who they might try to leverage for permissions unless there was a designated POC who every request must go through. Although everyone should understand it would not just be him personally as he would have a staff working for him to do the paperwork, ask questions and so forth. Despite what people seem to think there are always staff people involved.

So many times, like with the "missing scientists", people seem to think that high level people work totally alone, with nobody else within their organization knowing a single thing about what they were doing. That is pretty much never the case, there are always people in-the-know around them who are aware of what's going on.

"Biologics". To repeat a point made elsewhere, a "UFO scene" person talking about something in the context of biological science using a word that is already in widespread use in biological science with a completely different, fairly well-defined meaning.
Indicating they haven't liaised with any biologists, geneticists or relevant medical professionals to get their views about such an extraordinary claim.

If a government or government agency has access to, or evidence of, alien organisms, it is likely they would want to study them.
It would make sense to employ at least a few highly competent biologists, perhaps medical doctors (perhaps zoologists, veterinaries?)
Those professionals are not going to use the term "biologic" for an extraterrestrial organism; "biologic" is already part of their vocabulary:

Because it is extremely unlikely it would have come from anyone who might realistically have been chosen to actually study the anatomy and physiology of a real extraterrestrial organism.
Across science, in medicine (and in the military for that matter) the use of clearly-defined, mutually understood terms is a cornerstone.

Frankly, I suspect "biologic" is a bit of pseudoscientific jargon, chosen because it sounds sciency and to get away from "ETs" and "aliens", which might be evocative of film franchises to many people.
I doubt there is any factual basis for the use of this term being used in a real study of aliens or alien cadavers anywhere on Earth now or in the past.

I recently again tried get some understanding of what people think Grusch is referring to with this term on Reddit and I ran into this Reddit user who says they were a Navy submariner for 10yrs and also claims that it was common for sonar operators to call marine life that was appearing on the sonar (I imagine whales etc) "unknown biologics"

In naval terms if you heard someone talking about "unknown biologics", it would mean the local marine life is being noisy on sonar.

I don't have any experience in aeronautics, but it's not much of a stretch to assume they might classify radar returns from, say, a large group of migratory birds in a similar way.

I am completely sure, yes. I was a submariner for close to a decade.

For reference, the sonar techs are the only group usually listening to sonar, while the rest of control would only have the visual plots available. Sometimes marine life can look visually similar on sonar to something we'd like to avoid, like a ship, so if for instance Officer Jimmy is curious as to what that thing on the plot is, because he wants to turn toward it, or it looks like it's moving toward us, he'd say "Sonar, Officer Jimmy, what's that thing at bearing X?", and Sonar would reply, Officer Jimmy, Sonar, biologics".

This would indicate that the term is in use in the Navy with SONAR operators

I was an STS on a Trident. You can hear lots of sounds. You learn what various biologics sound like. Rain makes a good bit of noise.

It's pretty hard to hear stuff through the hull because of the insulation on the inside of the hull to prevent condensation.

We spend hours in training listening to all sorts of stuff learning how to identify it.

However the possibility that it is in use in military circles as slang/jargon for anything from nature (rain, animals, maybe even underwater volcanos etc) might be some reason for it to be part of Mr. Grusch's vocabulary, however it does not excuse the lack of precision nor the lack of any questioning from journalists to clarify his meaning.

It would also, as referenced above, indicate the term did not originate with, for example with scientists studying the remains of extraterrestrials as they would likely not use this term, however he could be paraphrasing.

I realize that neither is "correct" in your analysis, but to non-biologists and non-pharmacologists, the use of the word in that discipline is the one that sounds unusual, no matter what the dictionary says. But does it really matter? It seems unlikely that one usage would be confused with the other, nor one subject with the other.
