Alex Jones Video: Government Weather Manipulation Exposed

This is a forum named "theory". IE unproven. You guys aren't very good at plumbing these. If you can't mark them "debunked" you end up spinning circles instead of digging into them properly. Something about your otherwise excellent process fails. Oh well. There's always Infowars :)

This thread is about Alex Jones' claim that this pile of documents is evidence that SRM geoengineering is currently secretly being carried out.

You seem to think he might be right, but you argument seems to ignore the actual documents, and focus on:
  • Seems like something they would do
  • You can't trust the government
  • Look how many documents Alex has!
  • You can't prove it isn't so
But consider the actual documents he is waving. Which of those documents would not exist if SRM geoengineering was NOT happening?

Pick one. Read it. Explain why it's less likely to exist if there was no secret geoengineering program.

The category is called "Conspiracy Theories" but the examination of evidence is still about looking
at small, discrete claims of evidence, to see if they hold up to scrutiny. The posting guidelines are pretty clear:

  1. Focus on individual claims of evidence, not broader theories

So, yes, folks here "aren't very good" at what they aren't trying to do.

On many, many sites, like Infowars, folks can hide b.s. behind a gigantic pile of other b.s., and say,
"But look how much evidence I have! Surely it must support my conspiracy theory!"

For people that are impressed by that kind of argument--or just believe that louder is better--yes,
Infowars, etc. probably is a better fit for their desires.

You didn't see evidence of NSA recording everyone's phone calls until Snowden, but that didn't mean it wasn't actively happening prior. It was a "conspiracy theory".

I think it's been pretty much common knowledge the NSA was listening to everything, or could, for many years before Snowden.

We saw tons of evidence before Snowden. NSA surveillance has been a perennial scandal basically since the agency was created. Very little of what Snowden leaked was entirely new. Maybe the sheer scale (which was occasionally hinted at but quietly ignored by politician) or some of the more specific targets, as well as the newer methods and technologies we didn't know about, which were being used to do things we did know about. But the fact that the NSA had disturbingly extensive capabilities and was basically driving an industry dedicated to coming up with reasons the NSA should monitor new things and then selling them the expertise and equipment to do so? Well established since at least the Reagan years.

Only to illustrate a little more about this NSA Spying topic:

Big Bang Theory episode where one of the jokes is about Sheldon wanting to google "how to get a 12 year old girl excited", and the rest of the guys quickly stop him before he does that, because they knew that his search would be "listened by the government".

That is only a very small example that the concept of "the government is spying on us" is so old that even comedy shows joke about that. It wasn't Alex Jones (or the like) that exposed it. Snowden was the very first one to bring real documents to the table, and it really mattered, as it would really matter if Alex Jones had real important documents to show.

People loves to bring Snowden and Watergate and others to the debates to show that Conspiracies are real. The point about this events is exactly the opposite: if there is a conspiracy, it will be exposed and the government will be in a bad shape because of that.

There will be no "mass media blackout" - they are profit-oriented organizations. If Snowden sells paper or bring clicks, they will publish it. If a real document or evidence about any other conspiracy will make them make more money, they will publish it. Mass Media actually LOVES one the government is exposed, not the other way around.

A great scene from 'The Simpsons Movie' (2007) showed Bart saying something incriminating, whereupon the camera cuts to a huge NSA spying facility, where an agent hears Bart's comment and excitedly yells, 'I got something! The government finally found something it was looking for!'

I don't know if this is new information but it looks like Alex Jones doesn't believe in chemtrails after all. In this video, he discusses chemtrails with Joe Rogan (from about 1:03:00) and he says "most of the chemtrail stuff is BS, it's ice crystals".

First, I think that Alex Jones "believes in" whatever gets clicks...brings traffic/revenue to his site.

Second, that one isolated line is kind of like when the cat-lady tells you
"Hey, most of the body probing these UFOs are doing in my neighborhood, is exaggerated."
Jones is still hawking chemtrails in 2015, on this vid and many others:

(of course, the textbook he swears "admits" to chemtrails, (at ~1:37) does nothing of the kind...)

This is what passes for textbook "proof of chemtrails" in Jones-Town...

If one believes man-made climate change is a hoax (as Jones does), it's utterly contradictory to believe that the weather is being manipulated by the government at the same time. Can't have it both ways, sorry.
