UFO observed - Las Vegas 26 June 2023

Below is the detail presented by TikTok user @taylorstottern

Tf is going on in Vegas. Firstly, its hard to tell in the video but this thing was pretty large, I’d guess bigger than a 747. Second, it made zero noise, and typically I can hear planes from this distance all day long. Third, speaking of planes, for about an hour around this time there was zero plane activity, and I mean zero. Usually I see or hear commercial planes every 2-3min (approx.) all morning and day long. NOTHING?! Sus. I watched this thing for probably 15-20min, it ended up doing a 180 and heading back where I first spotted it

My first guess...Goodyear blimp, does it operate out of Vegas?

I concur that it doesn't look like a large jet, it turns too quickly for that.
I don't see why it couldn't be a quadcopter that's closer than Stottern thinks; or it could be a helicopter, with its noise either captured on the soundtrack, or masked by a nearby road (or farm machinery).
One hint to the distance could be how much atmosphere there seems to be in front of the trees, and how black the flying dot looks by comparison.

What was the time of the sighting?

5:45 am, perfect weather for a blimp, moves like a blimp.

The user has shared he was at Eagle Crest Golf course. The sun rises in the East, so we know where he was facing.

I've quickly checked the usual flight trackers - no blimps tracked near Las Vegas at 5.45am (12.45pm UTC) 26 June 2023.

Sunrise was at 5.25am, so the witness's stated time may be out by a little

Any data on helicopters in the area? It looks like it has powered flight.

We don't really have enough data to determine distance, it could be a commercial drone.

No helicopters either.

Doesn't look like a helicopter to me - rather it looks like it is being driven by the wind and is comparatively close (a few hundred yards maybe?) to the witness.

Let's say the witness is correct with the size, a 747 is up to 250ft in length. I think the witness is mistaken on the size, but I can't prove this yet.

In the first video of the OP it looks like the object is "wobbly", as it changes shape from "ellipsoid" to almost circular. This could point perhaps to a blimp/balloon.

Kinda looks like a cluster of balloons.

Edit: The shape oscillates a lot and you can kind of make out separations like a bunch of balloons.

I think the alien had a little too much to drink, last time he visited Las vegas.

A cluster of two balloons, perhaps. Two is still a cluster, just a small one. The estimated size is not really reliable at that range.

There is a continual droning noise on the video clip. If that's not coming from the object, perhaps it's sufficient to mask any other noise.

I'm not claiming that it was powered in any way, as it appears in all respects to be a wind borne object. But I'd question the reliability of a witness who claims "zero noise" while he records an event along with a persistent noise.

That was my first thought, a balloon. It's oblong shaped and turns a bit. The part about there being no air traffic at all for an hour sounds a bit mystery mongering. Flarkey's post shows there were aircraft operating. As always, the size is dependent on the distance.

Wind speed and direction for Vegas:

EDIT: corrected date.

When you're outside, in the scene, you can often discern where noise sources are. So it's possible that the witness is aware that the source of the persistent noise is not in the sky.

It could still mask another sound, of course.

@NorCal Dave - you've posted wind charts for 6th June. The sighting was on 26 June.

I find these tiktok inclusions a little annoying if I may say so. They never show the actual video, as it is already playing when refreshing the page. What can we do about those situations, mods?

To me the object looks too dark to be anything large and distant, like aircraft etc., I'd expect more athmospheric haze if that would be the case...

pixComp.jpg

It's a bit hard to tell with the massive sun flare, but I'd say the it's roughly comparable to the trees...so a small object (I'd also say balloon cluster or a single odd shaped one, movement speed fits) probably not much further away than the trees...
