The Lazar Development: Did Bob Lazar Borrow S-4 Details from 1976 SciFi Novel?

Yeah, saw that come up on Facebook. None, and I mean NONE of his claims have ever been verified. Even his claim of being a part owner in a brothel which included his pleading guilty to pandering (installing cameras) seems to be an unidentified brothel. That is, he claimed to have owned part of a seemingly unknown brothel, but ended up pleading guilty to some escapades at another establishment. He claims to have element 115 in his kitchen. He claims to have a Masters in Science (MS) from both Cal Tech and MIT. None of it can be verified. And yet, here we are.
Yeah I know. You don't need to convince me about Bob, I wrote this 5 years ago :) :

The problem we have is this. The people pushing Bogus UFO stories have the biggest microphones so to speak. They have in some cases huge reach with Documentaries, podcasts or social media. The voice against them is puny in comparison

Like last time, it's likely a ton of people will see the interview on Rogan (the last Rogan / Lazar interview has 66 milion views), watch the Doco, join UFO sub reddits / twitter etc. You will see a flood of people posting saying I watched the S4 doco, I believe him bla bla. To this day you still get that following Corbells Lazar doco.

This has always been one of the biggest issues IMO. The people pushing nonsense stories, have huge reach through various channels

and the fictional stories are usually more interesting than the truth

the problem is that people committed to telling the truth can't just make up interesting facts, and that puts the others ahead in the game

Yes definately that also.

One example of this was when I spoke to a witness in the Westall mass sighting case. He thought it was just some rubbish or a balloon flying around in the wind. He went to a Westall reunion and the press was there, when he was asked about it, he told them that he thought it was not a flying saucer but something mundane .
They walked away and interviewed someone else. UFOs sell papers, balloons or trash dont

Like you and @Mendel said, entertaining stories sell better than boring explanations. That being said, I wouldn't get to worried about yet another documentary on Lazar. Sure it will entice some new people here and there, but most people in the UFO world already know who he is and what his claims are. Reading through your post on r/UFOs and then the comments was, I found, a bit surprising. The majority of what I saw either already knew about all his falsehoods, or were reluctantly persuaded by your post. There's always a few that will believe no matter what, but for many they saw through his stories.

I only found a few, in the comments that I did read, really defending him. Even those that still wanted to cling to his UFO stories, were admitting he was a hustler and unreliable, but just maybe his UFO claims were true.

IF the comments on r/UFOs to your post are any indication, it seemed to me his BS about his advanced degrees and his claim, along with Knapp and Corbell, to have E115 in his possession were 2 of the more tell tale claims showing his dishonesty. Perhaps if this new documentary comes out and raises some interest, the advanced degrees and E115 claims are the more salient counter arguments.

The brothel thing, while certainly a big issue in his gaining Top Secret clearance, is too convoluted. He claimed in his book to be a part owner in one that was a cash cow, but no one can find a record of it. He likely was tangentially engaged through his first wife's association with the Hell's Angles, who were very involved in legal and illegal "companionship" businesses. Then he supposedly was planting cameras, but ended up pleading guilty to pandering. It's all more advanced Lazar BS.

whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Actually, this might be the more poignant question. Lazar's claims go back to the late '80s. Corbel already tried to rehabilitate him a few years ago. Why yet another documentary on his claims? I'll note, while I'm not a big Facebook person, when I log on, I get a number of "suggestions" concerning various UFO pages I can follow. More than a few feature stuff about Lazar.

Just musing here, but in UFOlogy, Lazar is tried and true, even if all BS. His claims have been around for 30+ years now and more importantly, they are old school. He talks about actual physical flying saucers being held by the government at Area 51/S4. He says they come from specific star systems. They have physical anti-gravity drive systems based on the actual element 115. Real nuts and bolts UFO stuff.

The Skinwalker Ranch crew, despite their main PR guy George Knapp also being Lazar's long time media proponent, has reduced UFOs to just part of the "the phenomenon". UFOs are on equal footing as ghosts, werewolves, telekinesis, Psy and all kinds of wierdshitology. Recall that last year's Contact in the Desert event, a supposedly UFO centered conference, was anything but. Nearly 1/2 the speakers included variations on New Age, the paranormal and even a side-show like presentation about autistic people with telepathy. Chris Bledsoe predicts UFOs for paying guests because God tells him where these angelic entities will be. It's all jumbled up.

The latest and greatest whistle-blowers haven't amounted to much. Grusch told his stories, but even the most hard core UFOlogist are haveing to admit he seems to be avoiding actually telling anything of consequence. Michael Brown and his Immaculate Constipation Constellation hasn't gone anywhere. He now refers to himself on X as a demon and bringer of chaos from 16th century Enocian magik.

Lazar is all about flying saucers. As such, he's a throwback with what some find a compelling, or at least straight forward story. No ghosts or remote viewing. No future humans time traveling back or inter-dimensional aliens. Just flying saucers from Zeta-Reticuli, the way it used to be.

My last recollection of any Lazar in any media was on the Joe Rogan Experience. That was apparently June of 2019. If that's accurate, he's missed out on a LOT of grifting he could have been doing since then. I wonder if he wants his slice of the pie since his claims are still cited so often.
