And whatever these are?

That's Virga in the second photo. Precipitation that evaporates before it reaches the ground

[Todd Feinman]

The first cloud picture looks like a fallstreak hole / hole punch cloud. Perhaps the falling cold air caused the spiral of ascending moist air to appear, which has been displaced as the cloud cover is moving.

[Mythic Suns]

Shot late August from Crediton, UK, close to the big Tesco

A cloud crease?

[RTM]

Wow, they look very angular. You could see how with the right lighting, dark clouds etc, someone could think of it as a solid triangular shape.

X marks the spot?

X marks the spot?

That must be over Scotland.

[JMartJr]

Not the neat near-perfect circle, but the only fallstreak hole I've ever seen. So y'all get to see it.

I am not sure if this is appropriate for this thread, but here is a shadow of a contrail cast on the earth as viewed from the plane that generated it.

Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds. I think!

Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds. I think!

Not from the description I find. K-H should be smooth waves. But I'm not an expert in clouds, so don't take my word for anything! Whatever they are it's a terrific photo.

You could start a whole new conspiracy theory with that picture! Really amazing.

Looks familiar and similar to the clouds discussed in these old threads:

If you reverse image search that picture you'll find a ton of Facebook posts from people in my local area who saw the same clouds on that day. The comments are ... interesting.

@Rex Banner
I commented on your photo this morning, and went out to lunch this afternoon ...where I saw clouds a lot like yours. The friend with me who had previously said "Oh, that's fake, it must be AI" is now a believer! (Sorry, I didn't have a camera with me. )
