That's Virga in the second photo. Precipitation that evaporates before it reaches the ground

The first cloud picture looks like a fallstreak hole / hole punch cloud. Perhaps the falling cold air caused the spiral of ascending moist air to appear, which has been displaced as the cloud cover is moving.
