The Tea Party doesnt attract racist . Racist are everywhere in every movement . They come in all colors shapes and sizes . The video with the Nazi was a perfect example of how racist are treated in the Tea Party . They are not tolerated .

. I was still waiting for those radio talk show racist comments ? People say thing they are supposed to back it up with facts .saying the Tea Party is racist and not naming those by name is wrong . I see Mick found one that nobody know and nobody agrees with but at least it was something . I seen a few pictures not sure if they were actually Tea Party rallies ? Iv never seen anything remotely racist at the ones Iv attended . We would have told them to leave . We want Black Americans in the Tea Party and there are quite a few .

I haven't heard any racist talk show comments, not blatant ones, but I almost think what's the point in posting them? You see to hand wave any proof anyone posts. You don't seem to think the posters of Obama as witch doctor are racist, but hear no evil-see noevil-speak no evil Bush is racist to you.

That's a good example yes. That type of thing makes people think you are racist. Most people think that jokes about black people eating fried chicken and watermelon are racist jokes. You think the black people just need to get over it. That comes across as racist.
It does not matter if you don't think you are racist. Or even if I don't think you are racist. Other people think you are racist. If you continue excusing fried chicken jokes then they will continue to think that. It's your call. You are making a decision to continue to appear racist.

That was a reference to the picture that was posted . I know about the stereo typing with fried chicken. Who doesnt like chicken ? I know plenty of black people that joke about that all the time even with us white crackers . Many of our local African Americans like catfish that is a fact . Is that racist If I put up a picture of catfish ? So now if a person doesnt think something like a food item isnt racist they themselves are racist ???? Wow talk about being paranoid ?

Maybe you can't see it, but they DO. I once suggested a soul food restaurant that had some good reviews to my hubby, for a meal out. You would have thought that I had suggested a trip to a dungeon. I am white and I eat more 'soul' food, than he does.

Those who cry racism want to silence . If you say something that they disagree with they label you a racist to silence you . Even if you dont say anything only diasgree what they perceive to be racist they label you a racist . Iv never in my life used a racial slur towards another individual . I treat all people the same regardless of race or sex . I see racism has been a tool for the left to gain political power . Italians also tell German jokes and Polish jokes as well as Irish jokes . Yet not one of them cries of racism ? Why is that ? Surely all were treated badly as immigrants to America ?

Please step back out of your 'white' world and think what it would be like to be black, both today and growing up. Thing about your mother telling you to NEVER look a white girl or woman in the eye, to always look elsewhere, to not look any white man of authority in the eye.
I was poor and white and my hubby was poor and black. Those were different worlds. To a large extent my hubby grew up in a highly white environment, Jesuit schools in St Louis. But he had to leave there and go back to the ghetto.

As you say that is in living memory - but older situations still rankle - Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland, Islamic slavers along the coasts of Europe and England in the 1600's are still remembered in the various myths of the white slave trade, christian and jewish places of worship still get torched in moslem-majority countries, as do mosques of moslem minorities.
there is no society that is not racist to some degree or toerh, no person who does not have some "preference" of some sort that could be defined as racist by someone.
Drawing the line as if it were precise and fixed is a mistake IMO.

Criticizing Obamacare is not racist. Wanting smaller government is not racist. Resisting federal influence in the states is not racist. Even wanting intelligent design taught in schools is not racist.
People are not trying to shut you up by calling you a racist. You bring that upon yourself. If you make a fried chicken joke, or a monkey joke, or a watermelon joke, then that makes people think you are racist. But they are not trying to shut you up about states rights or small government, they are trying to shut people up about fried chicken jokes, or in your case telling black people they should not be offended by fried chicken jokes.
If you want to be taken seriously, then you need to acknowledge that people are offended by these things, and not dismiss their offense.
Ideally nobody would be offended by anything. But that does not change the fact that they are offended.
