My background is in science and math. I have taken college science courses in the following areas astronomy, biology, botany, chemistry, geology, oceanography, physics. My interest in science dates to before I started school. (my mom had taught me to read soon after I started talking---except I had a severe speech problem and only a few words could be understood--the reading was to see if it would help me and it did). I saved my allowance and bought a chemistry set when I was 5. My parents had bought a set of Collier encyclopedias and I was reading them at 5.

I had an interesting upbringing for a child or the 50s, I was encouraged in many areas, my dad took me fishing and to ball games, he taught me basic woodworking and basic electrical and plumbing skills. My mom taught me to sew and cook. Both encouraged me to read and to explore interests.

I love to learn, and my interests are varied from the sciences to dogs and horses (maybe someday I will own one, I would love a Gypsy Vaneer}---Irish Setters and Huskies are my favorite dogs. I owned, trained and raised show Irish Setters for around 15-20 years. I have a big interest in history, including the history of trade and business.

By art interest is more in the 3-D arts and in those that are useful/wearable. My own art skills are fairly extensive, since I have sold my jewelry, scrimshaw, soft stone, bone, amber, horn and antler carvings, handmade enamel beads, clay sculptures and boxes, weaving, fabric art, painted fabric, costuming, leather work, pet accessories, and paintings.

A few years ago, I discovered the on line war/strategy game Travian and I play it and I am also a non paid employee, in game security .

I am a member of Mensa and the Society for Creative Anachronism.

    I enjoy being me.
