That's the bit that raises my eyebrows, the idea that stuff like garlic, leeks, onions, shallots etc are anti-bacterial I have no issues with, they have been used in folk medicine for years. The wine itself is not an issue either, alcohol is a preservative, has anti-bacterial properties was well as does tannin etc also found in wine...Add 25ml (0.87 fl oz) of English wine - taken from a historic vineyard near Glastonbury.
...but why Glastonbury? What is special about wine from the UK's capitol of new age quackery? Wouldn't any wine do? Say like a bottle of cheap plonk from Tescos, or if you want something more organic, my mates home brew?
