Because of the russian ukraine situtation, the nord stream explosion and and suspicious drone activity near oil and gas infrastructure the police is asking citizens to watch out for suspicious drone activity.

The police ask people to report drones
An unusually large number of unidentified drones have been observed on the Norwegian continental shelf, at land-based oil and gas facilities and at power plants on land recently, often at night and without light.
The West police district is working to find out whether this could be foreign intelligence, says police chief Gustav Landro to NRK. He asks the companies and the people to pay close attention and call the police if they see drone activity over oil and gas facilities or power plants.

The interesting/funny thing here is that the police had to make a followup statement saying they are getting too many reports of things that aren't suspicious, some apparently the planet Jupiter or boat lights in the sea.

translated excerpt:
The police now receive dozens of reports a week, and today issued a press release to specify what people should report about.
Only yesterday, the West police district received 42 reports about drones, writes VG.
Many of the observations turn out to be legal drones, or completely different things.
Several of them turned out to be the planet Jupiter, says chief of staff Gustav Landro in the West police district.

It is a legitimate concern and there have been some arrests already, but it's all still developing. I'm very curious about the actual number of false reports here though, but I guess there's no way to get that anytime soon.

I assume its because ppl are actually observing the sky for nearly the first time.
I've met more than one person that didn't believe you could see the moon during the day, their assumptions is always oh that only comes out at night.
I suppose it makes sense in their heads as the sun only comes out during the day :)

Reminds me of the time Gatwick Airport closed down (repeatedly) because of suspected drone activity. That was... about three years ago? I remember there suddenly being all sorts of videos from people in the area saying they caught the drone, although it was obviously a helicopter, a distant plane in or out of the other London airports and so on.
Interestingly, nobody ever came up with clear footage as far as I recall. Some went so far as to say there had never been a drone near the airport to begin with.

Between 19 and 21 December 2018, hundreds of flights were cancelled at Gatwick Airport near London, England, following reports of drone sightings close to the runway. With 140,000 passengers and 1,000 flights affected, it was the biggest disruption at Gatwick since its closure following the 2010 volcano eruptions in Iceland.
