However this "UFO" image is in fact of a mylar party balloon. It comes from this Rense.com page dated 2005:

UFO Photographs - Eccles, Manchester UK
By Steve Mera

At around 10.00am this morning July 10th 2005 I was sitting outside with 4 colleagues when I saw a very bright flashing rotating object in the sky. This I pointed out to everyone, and everyone saw it. At this point I must say that I am one of the worlds greatest sceptics with regards to UFOs. I managed to photograph the object and have 6 very good photos of it.

This object, and the described motion, is a perfect match for a mylar party balloon in the shape of a "1", a common digit in party celebrations.

What do you think Mick, considering those people are close or near your age, are those people scammers? Do they or someone among them know this is a scam since such "UFO" cases with mylar baloons are already debunked before across the internet? Why are those people doing that and who pays for this fraud? And what's next, a wedding lantern?

Or maybe just an alien invasion. :)

I think the use of that image was a mistake. They are just not very good at investigating.

Debunking website Metabunk.org has picked up on the inaccurate use of the image.

Metabunk administrator Mick West said on the website forum: "However this 'UFO' image is in fact of a mylar party balloon.

"This object, and the described motion, is a perfect match for a mylar party balloon in the shame of a "one", a common digit in party celebrations."

Metabunk discovered the image had been used in an earlier article about the Nimitz UFOwhich was published on Fightersweep.com in March 2015.

Note they copied a type there: "shame" should have been "shape", which I have since corrected.

There's a special humor in making a typo in the word typo when talking about a typo.:D

To the stars derp derp, is a conspiracy in its self. Thanks for the good work you do Mr West. Truth is truth always.

I saw my own UFO this morning while waiting for my train.

When I first spotted it, it was pretty nearby, so easy to tell what it was, even on a phone photo:

But as it drifted away it became a bit more mysterious:

Last shot, through the train window (with reflections and passing bird)

This balloon was pink, so looked a bit less spaceship-like than the silver ones.
