Yeah I was thinking it might be a food think based on the steak discussion, then I remembered the jamon legs from Spain. Which is where the video is allegedly filmed, and the cut outs sort of matched a bit...

It's a very speculative theory, based on the shape and colour the presence of the 2 cut-outs matching the shape 1st where the thinner part of the leg is and 2nd where the cut-out is where the slices are made. Also the 1st video being claimed to be in Spain.

So an idealised custom made balloon version of a Spanish delicacy from a produce fair/festival. I cannot find any matches on google though

Most likely saw it glinting in the sun then zoomed in with the camera, looks like maybe a superzoom type P+S camera (Nikon p900 style.) It's quite common for me to catch something moving out the corner of my eye then zoom my camera in when I am out doing bird photography.

Too bad the Vuelta wasn't nearby the El Escorial on September 6 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Vuelta_a_España#Route_and_stages ) they were more up North of Spain. They were in the El Escorial region on September 12.
In general these cycling courses have these huge commercial caravans carrying all kinds of stupid stuff around them.

Wayback machined that vid and got a reference to this sitre noting the supposed origina of the video. They claim it was received via email etc

I've attached a copy of the video originally from a defunct YouTube channel called "Classified Channel", which seems to be where first mentions of this sighting pointed to, in September 2015. This version was reuploaded to YouTube earlier this year, by a user called Christiano Dias:

This version is about 30 seconds longer than the other versions doing the rounds, although most of that time is just the cameraperson trying to find the object in the sky.

If we're talking dangly things on a string, ifyou had something like this, and it broke exposing the glittery silver interior, you'd be pretty close... could that create an illusion of a transparent bit somehow? Otherwise a hoaxer would have to add that bit. Not accusing them, just considering possibilities.

For things to make that shape as a hoaxer, I am also thinking of what could be acheived with a toy bowling pin, or a jai alai "cesta." Maybe worth noting that jai alai originated in Spain, in the Basque region.

(A ballon of a cesta intrigues me, as you'd want a clear panel where this object seems to have one, to show the scoop shape of the thing. So far I have not found such a balloon...)

you just make it out of clay or playdoh. its hard to tell fromt he video because god knows what "saturations" etc they used on the video, but it looks like palm and thumb dents in clay.

30 seconds (below) probably take like 3 mins to smooth all out, i need it to dry a bit first though

Just the way the camera zooms in and shakes makes me think it's not a small object close up. But it's impossible to be sure, it just doesn't look small and close.

I'm going to say not a balloon . The way it spins then slows, then spins the other way, suggests to me it's something hanging on a string.

Having finally seen the actual vid itself, I'm 100% aligned with that analysis.

It may be significant that when they zoom in, close enough that you might see the string, they always keep the UFO very close to the top of the frame, where as little string as possible would be in the shot.

The line appears a couple of times, always going to the same spot on the object. I have not seen similar lines elsewhere in this video. That might indicate string, or might indicate that the object is causing something in the camera or compression/encoding/whatever that's happened since it was shot to create a line above the object -- but never below. For all of me, that might be possible. But "string" seems simpler.

The clear part is meant to represent the area where part of the ham has been carved out. It was easier to do it this way. Meaning, the balloon is a simpler shape. Rather than try to make this complicated carved out shape, they just made the illustration end at a certain point and left the balloon clear in that section. (Speculation)

These are the two instances where it is most visible. I'd agree that in the second it is more visible in the video than in the still. I agree that the image is "macro blocked," it is possible that this or something is creating an intermittent string where there is not one. Though, it also would be possible that this is obscuring a physical string except in a few instances where the zoom is high and the string particularly visible. (As always, having original files might be useful.)

My objection to the idea that the "string" is an artifact of the video quality is that it only shows up in high zoom (when a string would be most strongly visible), it shows up in the same spot relative to the object and similar strings don't seem to show up anywhere else -- if I'm wrong on that last, and I might be somebody chime in and point them out elsewhere.

Circumstantial supporting evidence is that the object spins as though it were on a string, spinning one way, stopping, spinning the other. It also seems to bob around in the same spot, in a visual gap between the clouds, for about a minute and a half before moving off to the left comparatively quickly -- not impossible for a balloon, drone, spaceship or whatever, but also consistent with "hold it there, where I can see it between the coulds for a bit, then drag it away."

I think I'm getting persuaded that this may be a hoax video, rather than an innocent misidentification. This story has classic UFO hoax elements.

But, of course, this text may have been a hoax dishonestly attached to an honest misidentification video.
