BOSTON — In the first of the trials emerging from the Boston Marathon bombing, a college classmate of the surviving suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, on Monday was convicted of trying to cover up evidence that could have incriminated his friend in the days after the attack 15 months ago.

The defendant, Azamat Tazhayakov, 20, was found guilty of conspiracy and obstruction of justice in what will be a series of trials leading up to Mr. Tsarnaev's day in court, which is scheduled for the fall. With each trial, Boston faces yet another reckoning with the events of April 15, 2013, when two homemade bombs killed three people and injured more than 260 others, some of them severely.

not sure where to put this and not wising to start new thread as many already, may I add this news story here

BOSTON — A bearded Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, accused of planting bombs at the 2013 Boston Marathon, made a brief appearance in court Thursday, quietly telling the judge that he was satisfied with his lawyers.

Mr. Tsarnaev, 21, looked small and thin in a black sweater and gray slacks that were cinched at the waist with a black belt. He slouched somewhat in his chair and frequently felt his chinstrap-shaped beard. His hair is even longer and more unruly than it was in April 2013, when he was captured inside a boat parked in a suburban driveway after a manhunt that shut down the Boston region.

plus this is an interesting few minutes

Marc Fucarile, an amputee survivor of the April 2013 attack on the Boston marathon, confronted supporters of the accused Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as he arrived at the courthouse in Boston, Thursday. The supporters argue there is not enough proof to accuse Tsarnaev of the attack.

I just don't get how you can want a fair trial and want all evidence released to the public before the trial.

If you don't know the judicial system, it would make more sense to not talk about.

Tis the culture in the Western World.. lots of ppl talk about stuff they dont understand and expect others to believe and listen to them. Its exactly why I have this quote

The alleged bomber still has supporters- "mostly young women" spouting conspiracy theories. The irony being his defense attorneys trying to get rid of them as they "reflect badly" on their client.

Tsarnaev, 21, lost a bid to halt protests outside Boston's federal courthouse by a small group of conspiracy theorists -- mostly young women -- who claim the U.S. government staged the deadly terrorist attack and framed him....

...One victim of the bombing, Marc Fucarile, who lost his right leg in the attack, confronted two of Tsarnaev's supporters outside the courthouse in December during the suspect's final pretrial hearing, challenging their claims that his injuries were fake.

According to the defense filing, he removed his prosthetic leg in front of the protesters and said, "That's trickery?"
...
Larger groups of Tsarnaev supporters were present when he appeared in court in July 2013 to plead not guilty. One such supporter said there was no evidence Tsarnaev was guilty, while another said the U.S. planned the attack as a test-run for eventually seizing all privately owned guns.

The protesters hold large, bright signs next the courthouse's main entrance.

At least there is some sort of "opposition" at the Courthouse:

Another perspective

Boston graduate student Sean Hughes, who debated with Tsarnaev's supporters outside Moakley Courthouse, believes massive support either for or against the Tsarnaev brothers is premature.
"There is so much evidence that the general population is not privy to that forming an opinion based on such a small amount of information is a real bad habit to take up. Unfortunately, it's really easy to fall into conspiracy theories," said Hughes, later adding that theories regarding the brothers being "set up" are baseless.

"Most importantly, we have a timeline of events that haven't even gone to court yet and a ton of evidence that only privileged eyes have seen," said Hughes. "There are certainly going to be inconsistencies that seem "suspicious." Despite all the evidence they claimed they had, I walked away from Moakley Courthouse today with one question unanswered; if the evidence was so damning, then why isn't his defense team using it?"
