Left Panel

UAP Incident 151050FEB22 Fort Carson, Colorado

Object disposition looked slightly behind the mountain silhouette line. Object was stationary but slightly shifting in form. Color was translucent-white with approximately 20% transparency. Object was generally geometric and looked to be composed of angular, possibly hexagonal panels. Object was noticeably non-symmetrical but had a generally circular/oval shape. Edges of the object were well-defined and contrasted with the blue sky.

Cheyenne Mountain Elevation – 9570 ft (2920 m)
Prominence – 1,141 ft (348 m)
Estimate UAP height above mountain ~ 500 ft AGL

Note, local weather was clear with ambient temp ~ 50 f

It's old, but the ADS-B link seems to work. Of course, it does not sound like a plane.

The first thing that comes to mind is a lenticular cloud.

The second is: why the heck are there no photos?

The object's estimates position is bit weird. They say "slightly behind the mountain silhouette line", and 500 ft AGL (above ground level) but what they give is a mile behind it and more significantly, 3,300 AG

And you know, from the nature of going from one SCIF to another, we didn't have our phones on us, but frankly, it was, it was such a shocking experience that I didn't even think of bringing out a phone, even if I did.
Another thing that leaps out is the fact that there were thousands of people nearby who would have been able to see it, including a hundred or so within a mile of the object.
Ross also thinks this needs explanation:

External Quote:
[ROSS] Can I ask you this case? And a lot of people tell me, when they see objects like this, is there any awareness of the object anywhere else on the base, or is it only you five that are in the open air able to see this object? Do you have the sense? A lot of people have told me they have the sense sometimes that these objects appear to be showing themselves to them and nobody else, and that sometimes it looks as if nobody else can actually see what they're seeing. Is there any reaction anywhere else in any of the military complexes adjacent to this object?
Then suggests the object might have hypnotized Caison into not reporting it:

External Quote:
Okay, this is weird. I mean, it feels weird to me, as an outsider, that you've just witnessed an obvious incursion by an unknown object over an extremely sensitive military base. Do you think it's normal that you didn't feel a compulsion to report it?

My impression is that Ross is leading the witness a bit in asking about the absence of other witnesses by suggesting a (fanciful) reason why there might not be any. It reads more like trying to inoculate against an expected objection that will be raised later, than like a question.

Just to clarify for us dullards, is this photo supposed to be showing the approximate location of the UAP, never mind all those clouds? When it says there were no clouds at the time of the sighting and all I see are clouds, it's a bit confusing. Or just poor TV.

And what's with the incident number 151050? Is this an AARO incident number, or DoD, or USAF? Or is it a MUFON number or is it completely made up? Guess I'll have to watch some more Couthart in the near future.

Later he shows what he describes as
"A contained sphere of what is often described as a condensed sun, just a ball of some sort of plasma or energy or light that is either red, like in like in this example, orange, or a brilliant white"

But what he shows looks like two sky lanterns drifting by.

The first thing that comes to mind is a lenticular cloud.
I'm used to seeing pictures of them on (or very near) the tops of peaks, but I found this picture of one from 1990 that looks like it's quite high near Pikes Peak (~10 miles NW of Cheyenne Mountain). Perhaps a high one like that above a mountain behind Cheyenne Mountain?

I was stationed at Ft. Carson, CO back in the mid 90's where this chap was stationed. There are well over 400,000 people that live in Colorado Springs now so you'd think there would be a lot of witnesses.

Just to clarify for us dullards,...
You think you're slow - I can't even work out if this is a report from Feb 2022 or from July this year.

However, I am smart enough to realise that the "approximate" position of the object and the observer in such photos is specified to about the wavelength of X-rays. (No, I didn't do it in my head, I'm not that smart, Pari/GP says: 2*Pi*6370*cos(40*Pi/180)*1000/360*0.00000000000001 = 8.51668857 E-9)

If it's indeed just a satellite that they've seen, then the correct precision to use for its approximate location would be about whole degrees.

Is Cheyanne Mountain near Cheyenne Mountain? I've heard of Cheyenne Mountain.
Maybe it was renamed to confuse the opposition.

Growing up here, I had never seen a UAP or UFO. We see flares by the bases that people confuse for UAPs and some strange looking planes on occasion but those are clearly military. Then, this spring, I saw a reflective silver/gray oval shaped thing in the sky. My brother is a big UFO guy so I wanted to take a picture, I pulled out my phone and focused on it and then poof- it disappeared. No zipping off anywhere, it was just there one moment and then it wasn't and I didn't take my eyes off of it.
But it's a year out..

Inspiration?

Wow @Mick West - you nailed it in this video...!
I enjoy the way Mick tackles all this utter nonsense. 300 feet wide object, sure mate.
It is very obvious the veteran (he is 23) is not the best witness one would like. Probably the requirements for the job he did are a bit low.
And Ross is far to single minded to ask critical questions..
It does (again) not get more stupid than this.
Don't the True Believers see this is?

But you see, according to the witnesses, "it suddenly zipped off". I have a pretty biased view on witnesses without images/video.
This. Without corroborating evidence, it is impossible to differentiate between accurate witness testimony, witness testimony that is honest but in error, and intentional deception. It could be any of the three, no way to tell.

So it has essentially no value beyond maybe being an entertaining story.

No, what they describe is a large object in daylight.
That ("On video, an amorphous, rapidly changing blob of light and energy emitting colors throughout the visual spectrum") was their description of the ISS, not the blob over the mountains in daylight.

I've lived at White Sands Missile Range, right at the foot of the Organ Mountains, and have seen lenticular clouds over the peaks. They're mysterious and attention-getting the first time you see one, but once you learn what they are you'd never mistake them. Which makes me wonder — was Best fairly new to the area? Is it possible that he had never seen a cloud like that before? Never mind his size/position estimates, because it certainly might have been directly over a mountain peak (where they commonly form, due to adiabatic cooling as air rises from the top of a peak), and might have been legitimately misidentified by him.

If one of the hundreds of other people who saw such a thing and was baffled about it enough to, say, phone the local police, I'm sure they'd say (while smiling to themselves) "No sir, it's just a lenticular cloud over the mountain. It's nothing to worry about".

From the OP, Best's description included

Both of those descriptions might fit a cloud in the process of disappearing in dry air.

Yeah, the only thing that makes me hesitate is the reported speed of disappearance. I'd like to see a real-time video of an end-of-life lenticular.

There are some good examples (in Colorado) here, but, like most footage of lenticulars, it's time-lapse and shows them mostly in their prime.

Any Metabunk fans live near Fort Carson?
Perhaps willing to set up a security camera, for home security purposes of course.
That happens to have within it's field of view the sky above Cheyenne Mountain?
Just in case this 'whatever' should come back?

I searched Flickr for images with "Colorado" taken on 15/02/2022 but there doesn't seem to be anything near Cheyenne, closest I could get was Steamboat Springs 250 miles away

But other search tags might bring something up if anyone has any suggestions, I tried Cheyenne, Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak
