But aerodynamic contrails look in fact quite similar to exhaust contrails themselves: The part close to the wing is different, but then the turbulent region after about 50 m is hard to distinguish from an exhaust contrail. And I don't see why it couldn't form pendules. Skywriting smoke forms...

Hope this is OK to post here - it's quite a new video and one I hadn't seen before - a really good compilation of low-altitude vortices and aerodynamic contrails on take-off and landing. Look at 5:12 for a nice propeller contrail from a Flybe Dash 8 :)
