Debunked: 9/11 Melted cars near WTC7

The reporter is pointing to the place where the towers were standing and where this blast came from to scorch the cars.

The cars are:

* standing in traffic with doors closed (people stayed in the vehicle and didn't get out?)
* everything that's not metal has been evaporated
* the gas tanks did not explode (see the fire truck, windows blown out, gas cap still there, no damage around gas tank. All cars have gas tanks intact with no visible explosion of gas tank, but all door handles are gone.)

This must have happened earlier in the day. At this point, towers 1 and 2 are gone and building 7 is still standing. There is lots of paper on the ground and it's not burning. The few sheets of paper on fire look like they came from building 7 so the ground is not hot enough to scorch paper. And yet, some sort of fireball came through earlier to melt cars (but not gas tanks). The window glass in the building next to the cars is still in place, no windows are shattered in the lower level of the building.

The cars are not melted. There was just a big fire in that location, the combustible parts of the cars burned. That's all. Google "car fire"

You're saying, as the towers fell, the cars down the street caught on fire, while they were standing in traffic. And then this very intense fire burned out very quickly all by itself and a few hours later the ground was cool enough for all the paper on the ground not to get scorched. In the meantime, there was no damage to the sides of the buildings on both sides.

What kind of fire is this?

Pretty much normal car fires like the above example from Google. The cars were parked, not in traffic. Some of them quite a distance away:

(That's just showing these particular examples were before WTC7 fell).

The cars in the video are lined up at an intersection, like they were in traffic. Even if the first row of cars were parked at the curb, what about the other ones?

The doors being closed makes me think that the people did not get out. So sad.

No, I don't think so Taz... they probably just got out and shut the door and ran away because there was a jam or rubble which they couldn't drive over.

Yes, this shot:

Is looking north, along a one-way street (W Broadway) that goes south to WTC7. Traffic would have been stopped from going quite a bit before the collapse of WTC2

I don't know, I hope you're right.

Above the reporter's head is a pedestrian traffic light, and a street sign, and a one way sign, right turn only. There is nothing in the intersection blocking it.

It's hard to tell if the Post Office truck (across the street at the dead end) was already there or if it came later. I can't imagine the post office would be delivering mail to that building on that day while it's burning. The truck could have been protected from the blast by the wall that's in front of it and the fire went over the post office truck and landed on the cars behind the intersection. Even if the cars at the curb were parked, the other cars in the street were lined up, with the bus at the back.

In a house fire, flashpoint is a blast of energy when everything catches on fire at the same time. You don't have to be near the flames to be consumed. You can be in another room. That's why they tell you to get out, because you only have so much time before flashpoint.

By the time they saw the wave coming, it would be waaaay too late to get out of the car, shut the door, at that point you're outside and exposed. Then you have to find somewhere to go.

Ok, that puts things in perspective.

That's at the time of the collapse, right? Since they didn't expect the buildings to fall, and everyone was busy with the fires, did they have people directing traffic? If you happen to be still sitting in that intersection, well.......

That's a about 10:30AM (North Tower Collapse), The first plane hit at 8:46. I'm sure regular traffic was stopped from going anywhere near that area at least half an hour before this picture. What you are seeing is parked cars, and the cars and vehicles of emergency workers.

I'm marking this as debunked, as there really seems nothing suspicious about the cars in the broader context of an enormous burning building falling on them.

And here's the North tower a few minutes earlier, to give you some idea of the amount of fire that could start other fires after it fell (including in WTC7, of course)

Wait, now that you had me google melted cars, what about cars parked 7 blocks away?

As a general statement I don't understand when the heat and fire hit the street . . . was it before the collapse, after the collapse, during the collapse . . . during the entire process . . .it has been a mystery to me . . .

Nothing else is on fire, not the other cars, not the paper on the ground, not the gas tank.

Only the engine???? An electrical fire?

You do? lol

Very selective fire, why is the paper not on fire?

Because it's several feet away from the fire. Same reason the grass near this fire is unharmed:

It's not like the entire area was hit by a huge laser from space or something. There were lots of fires of various sizes. Burning and red hot debris was scattered over a wide area. Some of it hit cars, they caught fire, they burned.

Mostly during the collapse. But some stuf was falling from the towers the whole time. Jet fuel came down the elevator shafts.

Where did this happen?

Is this from Sep 11? If yes, then it does look like a giant laser came from space. Just saying.

What caused this fire? A bomb planted on the inside?

It's a car fire. Or rather a snapshot of a car fire. Probably started with some burning debris landing under the car, maybe igniting a tire. It does not look unusual.

What is the source for that pic Mick? It is unusual in showing that much flame ferocity.

Does look like a typical car fire. They can go up pretty quick from very little cause... that's what they look like after.

And that one needs to be viewed in conjunction with this one from a few seconds earlier showing even more fires on the east face

What do you mean from very little cause?

Where was this car? By the looks of the house, not in downtown NY.

I understand one car catching on fire one time. A row of cars 7 blocks away?

That was an unrelated car fire, somewhere else, shown for example.

The cars 7 blocks away were most likely towed there later to get them out of the way.

These cars were on the other side of the island. Someone would have to load each individual car, take it down the street, and then unload it? Why not take it to the junk yard? Someone stacked these cars and left them? What, their contract ran out before they reached the junk yard? That makes no sense.

At another location

It makes perfect sense. The cars were blocking the road to emergency vehicles, so they needed to be moved ASAP. Taking each one to a dump would take several days, so they moved them quickly and temporarily - a few tow trucks running back and forth for a few hours - saved a heck load of time.

Those cars obviously did not just burn there. They have been crushed and mangled.

And I don't get why it is suspicious that there are not that many burn victims? Are you suggesting a special kind of fire that only burns cars but not people? What?
