Newsnation Benfield - Police Officer Robert Klein - Fairfield County, CT - 2022 Orb UFO

.including confirmation of the location & time:
he got the location from Klein? because i filmed the same area (the following year..but branches dont grow in a year) and i didnt find a real good match to Kleins video.

i do like your candidate though if Klein stopped int he middle of the road a bit past the pull off area.

This slide seems to show the sighting location

yea thats the second pull off. i was all over that baby. and shot it and filmed it from every angle i could think of. doesnt really match Kleins video that i could spot anyway.

i guess that is Dr. Buettner's best guess? or did Klein confirm to him the location?

either way if the timestamp works, i like the plane. esp since that is the same location of the old case photos of the "Saugatuck ufo"

So it was just on the road and not at the actual pull in

So how did he miss that plane... it makes no sense.

Looking at it a bit more the fork might be 2 different trees in a line which makes it even harder to line up on streetview

Lining up the branch view direction from the streetview URL (105.89 degrees) with the time-coded ADSB playback and JBU1168's flightpath gives this....

my video is from a side angle since i had just pulled out of the 2nd pull off.. i guess its possible (kinda sorta) that those little branches at the end of my green arrow could be the tree we see in Kleins pan. Now im gonna have to go back this spring or it will drive me crazy... :)

edit add: note im in a regualr car so im lower than klein would have been in his suv type thingy

:) i deleted this but now looking at fork from above google map link i think this might indeed show the shoreline we would see in kleins vid? mayeb someone can sitrec my location

I think I know what their issue is. They have assumed (or have been guided by Officer Klein) that the 'orb' in the video is towards the opposite shoreline (between 45 - 90 degrees, as per the x-axis on the chart below).

The SCU presentation also includes multiple references to the 'opposite shoreline' or 'across the reservoir'...

Our posts above suggest that Officer Klein was looking more South East towards the southern end of the reservoir, on a bearing closer to 120°.

The bearing of this view will either confirm or reject our assertation that the 'orb' is JBU1168.

Google Street view says this is a bearing of 121°.

Stitching together a few of the frames of the original video and brightening them allows us to see a few more trees that were in shot. They also match the Google Streetview images. The perspective is a little off, but close enough to see significant similarity.

2015 Imagery (link) - this allows us to see through the trees to the horizon. There is a similarity with the nearby tree branches .

From the same location - this is the 2023 Imagery (link) - this allows us to compare the tree branches, and there is a very close match.

This confirms that Officer Klein's video was shot facing East-South-East, or around a bearing of 120°, towards the southern end of the reservoir. And at "Creation Date : 2022:04:27 23:22:48-04:00" this would have been directly towards JetBlue flight JBU1168.

Does this mean we're now at the "if that's a UFO, he should've seen the aircraft, why doesn't he mention it, and why is it not on the video?" stage?

We're at the stage that we can pretty much conclusively demonstrate that the 'ufo' was occupying the same part of airspace as an Airbus A320 registration N529JB at exactly the same time. People can make their own mind up from there.

And the UFO moves in the same apparent direction and speed as the aircraft that was there at the time in that part of the sky.

It's nice to have another demonstration of "we could identify this if we had the exact date, time, and location".

Because @flarkey was already on the right track back in December:
Remembering the original sighting by the cop , I had said the comment above, and if the date of 28 Apr 2024 around 1125pm 0325pm is correct then this plane is a candidate (although it is descending). Particularly if the cop was towards the southern end of the lake

And so was @Fin:
I animated the Robert Klein sighting [for NewsNation]. Having spoken to him in detail while working to recreate what he described, you may not be surprised to hear that I think his "close encounter" is more complex than just attributing everything to what the video he filmed at the end of the encounter appears consistent with: A distant mundane object such as an oncoming aircraft.

All that is just to say, Robert's video alone does very much resemble many other videos I've seen where it's later revealed unambiguously that it was indeed an oncoming aircraft.

I think the tree formation visible on the video is a close enough match to the 'plane angle' in street view to validate the plane theory or at least make it the leading hypothesis..
ill refilm in a month or two once some leaves fall off the green leaf trees. now that i know what angle to hold my phone and height and location..ill hopefully get verification.

The presentation shows this branch, which seems to match this branch in the StreetView...

I will also be driving right by there next month on my way south from Massachusetts. I'm not sure there's much else needed though.

How likely is it to catch a similar flight on video?
im not going at night! its creepy out there at night.

im just gonna get a better vid of the location [tree branches] and direction he was facing [the 120degrees] so flarkey can update the title and OP with the flight number. unless Kyle gets it first of course. depends on how the leaves take, they havent started falling yet.

West Palm Beach to Westchester County Airport is a common route for Jet Blue. If someone really wants to test this, go out to the location and record the Jet Blue flight on in bound to Westchester from Officer Klein's location. Get a video from the direction he claimed, and a video from the direction you think is correct. There's a Jet Blue flight from Palm Beach to Westchester (same route) on November 1st, lands in weschester at 2334 EST

That would be a fun demonstration if the plane follows the same or a very similar flight path, but I think the simulation of the flight traffic is conclusive enough to show it was a plane the officer saw that night.

But if someone wants to pay for my trip and let my boss know i'll be gone a few days I'd love to try and recreate it.

Get a video from the direction he claimed, and a video from the direction you think is correct.
those are the same direction. there are too many leaves still on the tree to recreate from Klein's angle and location. you'd need to wait until at least December. (and im not freezing my bum off at 11:30 at night on a creepy lonely stretch of road in December either :) so @jarlrmai will have to do it..

...or you guys will have to find an earlier flight in March or April (warmer) i might be willing to do before 9pm, if you give me the EXACT time it would be in view from the pull off area ie. not when "it lands at westchester" as im not doing the math and waiting for it.

@flarkey youre gonna wanna strangle me :) my new car angle was too much forward so that vid sucks. plus the sun was at an unfortunate angle.

so i went to the big, (ie 2nd) pull off and walked across the street for photos. unfortunately i wasnt planning on going down so didnt look at the photo before i went and i stopped walking closer to it too soon!

anyway i can say the angle is more in between you two guys ie. see my pink estimation line.
ill map out my photos better a bit later today although having to use the google car seems a bit wonky..generally i was in pink area, but for now (since you will probably be able to map out my locations faster than i will!) ...
1763658554643.png

so the closest ie best photos are the furthest out i went, i was about here (pink cross) taking ["best"] photos..but you can see the evergreen tree is too close and trees not spaced enough.. i should have walked another 10-15 feet :( sorry.

and i know people will say im 90degrees but im not. im also not 120 degrees :) anyway i am between the two big trees if you can sitrec it for better visuals for readers. sorry again, i suck at this apparently. if you need full size pics let me know and ill email them to Mick.

add edit note: to clarify i was keeping at approx 120 degrees , which is why i didnt walk further. but i didnt need to go much further so it certainly wouldnt be 90degrees as my earlier 90 degree video proves. @Kyle Ferriter when you go you need to be on your feet and go past that thrid tree i didnt go past! thanks! i'm gonna let you do it as that drive is so boring.

now this pic was taken right up against this tree [pink mark] (there was a little dirt hill so i was trying to get height since im so short and the tree fork was still below my treeline on other side of reservoir.

anyway so i walked in between these points...ill attach all photos i have, they are consecutive, im not sure why the photo numbers are so far apart. but they do go low to high correctly.

@flarkey screenshots from my vid..so you can see my angle was too steep. (plus the trees got real dark in that area due to the sun angle i guess and my car angle.. so vid is useless really)
