My expectation would be different, they CAN be quite bright, I'd expect to be able to see some sort of reflection in any surface "shiny" enough to reflect, say, a plane's landing lights at some distance. It is cloudy here at the moment, next... -

I agree. It's just that I haven't found a single mirror with the right silhouette. The flat top of the ”ufo” is quite apparent in Trent's photo, but it's not typical of this kind of mirror.
