Claim: Videos of people exhaling vape smoke through a mask, demonstrate masks as useless against a virus..

I don't think anyone is going to make the argument that a well-fitting N95 mask doesn't filter viruses better than anything else commonly available. The point is that very few people are wearing them in public. In the early days of the pandemic the use of N95 masks was actively discouraged due...

Claim: Videos of people exhaling vape smoke through a mask, demonstrate masks as useless against a virus..

How many people are wearing N95 respirators while they do their grocery shopping? That argument seems pretty irrelevant.

    Incorrect clocks in Biden tweet

I saw a few people taking the angle that this proves the administration does photo-ops like this ahead of time because they can't count on Biden to keep things together long enough to do it live. That seems to be a common theme among the anti-Biden MAGA crowd, always questioning his cognitive...

    Incorrect clocks in Biden tweet

Here's a fun one. Sharp eyed tweeters have noticed a discrepancy in the time shown on the clocks in this photo from Joe Biden on 8/15/2021. Is it routine to have photos like this ready to go ahead of time? Are there any signs of photo manipulation? Lots of tweets right now so I'll post a...

    My Chat With Luis Elizondo

It's worth remembering the character Elizondo is playing has evolved quite a bit since he appeared on the scene in 2017. Really, all the way up until TTSA dissolved he was still playing the "dumb guy with connections" role. He'd often display self-deprecating humor while praising the abilities...

    COVID-19 Coronavirus current events

It's starting to look like there is increasing consensus among the science and medical fields that COVID is now endemic. The media, as a whole, seems a little hesitant to acknowledge this, as the ramifications are somewhat bleak and would be disappointing to many. It will be interesting to see...

    Phoenix Lights

Perhaps. Unfortunately without photos, video, radar data, etc. there really isn't much to discuss. At that point it's just a story. Personally I find stuff like Roswell and the Nimitz encounter a little more interesting just because, however unlikely it may be, there exists the possibility of...

    Phoenix Lights

They just look like flares to me. I've never understood the fixation on this event, it doesn't seem all that interesting in hindsight.

    Jet pack man? Balloon?

Looks like they could be metallic, hence the "glowing" illusion as they reflect light.

    Jet pack man? Balloon?

Saw this one posted over on Reddit and thought it would be worth adding here mostly due to the quality of footage compared to the usual. Looks like possibly balloons or some kind of debris? Attaching Vimeo link at the top just in case the Reddit link stops working. Source...

"GO FAST" Footage from Tom DeLonge's To The Stars Academy. Bird? Balloon?

You'll find no argument from me in regards to Leslie Kean, she's a full woo-believer 100%. That said, the article was co-written by Ralph Blumenthal who is a legitimate journalist with a large body of respected work. I'm hesitant to dismiss their work completely due to his involvement. I...

"GO FAST" Footage from Tom DeLonge's To The Stars Academy. Bird? Balloon?

Generally, I think you'll find most people on here tend to focus on single events and single claims about those events to debunk. So with GOFAST the purpose isn't to identify the object, it is to debunk (or verify) the claim that the video shows something near the water moving at a high rate of...

2004 USS Nimitz Tic Tac UFO FLIR footage (FLIR1)

For anyone who hasn't read through it, here's a link to the thread on ATS where F4.mpg was originally leaked: https://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread265835/pg1

My journey out of the woo

Sometimes it can be worth remembering it's perfectly fine and valid to enjoy a subject without necessarily believing it's real. I mostly enjoy UFO stories and literature because I find it interesting, despite the fact that I don't believe there are 'others' zipping around in physical aircraft...

Fravor's Hypersonic UFO observation. Parallax Illusion? Comparing Accounts

I think you've made valid points. I just wanted to add that Dietrich has stated her plane was banked so their field of view was presumably clear to facilitate having eyes physically on Fravor and his mysterious prey.

USS Omaha "Transmedium" Sphere Descending To the Sea

Orbs! Spheres! Seeing round things in military airspace isn't as unusual as UFO believers assume. Just one example: https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/41608/this-spherical-manned-airship-was-tested-by-the-navy-as-an-eye-in-the-sky

Fravor's Hypersonic UFO observation. Parallax Illusion? Comparing Accounts

Both seem to agree on the trajectory of Fravor's jet. Is 10 seconds long enough to perform the maneuver they've both described? IIRC Fravor says his flight maneuver was in reaction to the churning water and he only noticed the tic-tac bouncing around after he started descending.

Poll : Which DOD Navy video do you consider debunked ?

I picked up on this as well but it's really only when the experienced people are sayings things that impede the path to a prosaic explanation. Rightly or wrongly, Fravor and his testimony is routinely critiqued and dragged through the mud here yet when Dietrich uttered the words "5 to 10...
