In the following series of pictures from just after the blast, we appear to see Sydney walking around on both legs which doesn't seem possible given the severity of her injuries.

I see two counter-arguments,
  1. the person in the pictures is not Sydney,
  2. or, walking around like this is consistent with her injuries.
With respect to 1., note the following identifying features:
  • dark hair cut below shoulders,
  • gray jacket over black sweater,
  • black leggings,
  • the three color combination at the wrist, jacket gray, over black, over light gray,
  • green band,
  • black bag over left should, thin straps.
The following pictures are taken from The Center for an Informed America and the green arrows are (suposedly) Sydney.

In the next picture the 3-color wrist combination is visible (zoom in to check)

A short while later, Sydney is down.

Then up.

Then down again.

I think the man in the red shirt and yellow sneakers is the same man in the following iconic image.

I stand to be corrected.

A ruptured femoral artery does not immediately stop you from walking.

That's it.

You are wasting time here.

My name is Sydney Corcoran and this is my first hand account of what I remember feeling, thinking, and seeing at the Boston Marathon.
...
The first bomb goes off and everyone is immersed in smoke. Every one of my senses is in use and working in overdrive. I can smell smoke and blood. I can taste the smoke going down my throat and into my lungs. I can see people on the ground but I can’t make out their faces. I can hear screams coming from every angle; each scream being muffled by my perforated eardrums.
I felt the force of the first of two bombs, but I was left standing. I wasn’t lucky enough to walk away unscathed. I felt like half of my right foot was gone. I managed to limp away to a rail. I was clutching onto that rail trying to comprehend what had just happened.
The next thing I know, I’m on the ground laying flat on my back. Men are putting massive amounts of pressure to my thigh and they’re taking off my shoes because they are covered in blood. I lift my head up to look at my thigh and I see something protruding. It’s hard for me to breath. When I speak, it’s barely above a whisper.
...
I now have a hollow hole in my right foot; the bottom of my foot has a crack in it like the sidewalk does. My right calve has two incision’s that were made to alleviate pressure because I had suffered from Compartment Syndrome. I have two massive shrapnel wounds where a piece of shrapnel entered my thigh and severed my femoral artery. I have two incisions on both of my thighs from the surgeons taking a vein from one thigh and putting it in the other thigh to repair my broken artery. I have one other shrapnel wound located on the bottom of my shin on my left leg.

Is qed not going to respond to a first hand account from the person he's accusing of "faking" an injury?

I would hope it's a real wound, you can actually see blood pouring from her injured leg in some series of photos. Looks pretty gruesome.

What the heck would make you think it isn't a real wound? Your idea of questioning things just to question them is going to steer you the wrong way in life.

Wait, what? I didn't even ask a question. What are you going on about? I can clearly see blood gushing from her leg in one of the photos above. And that's all I mentioned.

Perhaps I read your reply the wrong way. The way I read it made me think you had original doubt about whether or not it was a real wound. Looking back, I now know what you meant. Apologies.

On another note, I see qed liked your post, yet doesn't have the "fortitude" to address the comments from Sydney herself. A pretty cowardly move to run and hide when your addressed with facts, but I wouldn't expect anything else from a "Boston Truther."

@qed your first 4 pics are about 10 secs max. see the guy in the White sweatshirt/black backpack helping that woman up.

then Sydney goes down. as you clearly show. maybe another 5 secs to get in position for the second set of 3 pics. so she's up for 15 seconds tops.

it depends on how the artery is cut...if it is cut clean and straight across then you have plenty of time to get help because arteries and veins are sphinctoral muscles or circular muscles that are desicned to contratc and close off the cut but if the cut is at an angle then they can not close off and the bleeding will not stop with out additional treatment. you can lose consciousness in about 30 seconds for the average adult male and death in about 3 minutes if the bleeding is unrestricted.

i lost my left foot, about mid way between my foot and knee, to an explosive devise during my first tour in Kosovo back in 1995 and and it was around an hour before i could get any medical help from anyone other than the turnicate i applied myself and 6 hours before i made it to a surgilac hospital...i lost about half my blood supply but recovered very nicely and actually still serve today and am preparing for another tour in Iraq starting in June

Is it fair to say that a common reaction to major trauma is to stand up? If you can get to your feet, it's a way of convincing yourself that things are not so serious after all (I remember when my neighbour had a heart attack, the paramedics had to physically hold him down to begin treatment). It's only when you do stand up that you realise you can't.

I have to agree that there is nothing inconsistent in the series of photographs. I have seen other photographs in which Sydney is clearly bleeding profusely from the top of her leg. Given that @Mick West has proved that others were definitely injured by the blast (see Debunked: Boston Marathon Bombing: Karen Brassards "Lack of injuries"), I see absolutely no reason to doubt that so was Sydney.

It is shocking that I used to believe this bunk

I appreciate you came back to revisit this. Many people when they realize they were mistaken will just go quiet.

Have you been having second thoughts about anything else?

With regards to Boston, I now think the Boston bombing was real and the two Tsarnev brothers very probably are guilty.

Or did you mean with regards to some other issue?

I was thinking mostly about Boston, but I was also wondering about other similar issues (nothing specific though)
