And you couldn't have a more obvious pattern of stars in frame to show which way is north! This looks to me like the smoke from the firework being blown northwards.
Indeed. In Ireland fireworks are more of a Halloween thing compared to the mainland UK where they are more of a November 5th Bonfire night phenomenon.Random fireworks going off are not unusual in the lead up to Halloween in Ireland.
yes without getting into the details-the rules around fireworks are different here than other places. the proximity of this location to northern Ireland and the different rules there makes the their used in Buncrana completely explainable.Indeed. your right I should clarify. If the poster is a photographer, he appears to photograph the northern lights for example and this a sky cam as he describes in the post not just security cam footage. I would expect the see fair less digital artifacting in the "wake" or trail of the apparent object. Im for sure not an expert on this and am looking for feedback, maybe my assumptions are wrong?I am not sure what you mean?
Also for the other experts what further data would be needed to narrow a celestial object down. A very quick look puts the meteorite "2-13" at 21.02 on the 3rd looks like a possible candidate- its amazing how many objects are in this section of sky in a reasonable assumed time frame though.
What do you think a sky cam is? It's just a camera pointed at the sky, this appears to be a wide angle security type video camera, prone to the usual low light artifacting.your right I should clarify.
