What is this White Water-can it tied back to Nimitz Tic Tac Encounter

The white water has always been one of the most unexplained aspects of the Nimitz UFO encounter to me. I thought it best to discuss it separately and consider any possible connection to the Nimitz Tic Tac encounter and its location.

A recent Reddit video shows a sudden white disturbance. the OP states the location off Rivière-au-Renard, Gaspésie, Quebec.

around 400m of the coast,

The OP reported shallow water, about 5ft deep , it exploded suddenly, spread of roughly 300 metres,

lasting a duration five minutes and more.(whatever more means in this context?)

Commenters proposed:

  1. Hydrothermal vent: Heat and minerals rising from the seabed.
  2. Sewage outfall: Wastewater creating foam and turbulence.
  3. Methane release: Escaping seabed gas producing bubbles.
  4. Sediment eruption: Pressurised water lifting mud or minerals.
  5. Whale feeding: Bottom-feeding stirring up sediment.
  6. Whale waste: Faeces or vomit discolouring the water.
  7. Dead whale: Decomposition releasing gas and fluids.
  8. Submarine: A submerged vessel disturbing the surface.
  9. Feeding frenzy: Predators and baitfish churning the water.
  10. Broken pipeline: Pressurised discharge from a damaged pipe.
  11. Stormwater runoff: Drainage suddenly clouding the water.
  12. Algal bloom: Plankton making the surface appear pale.

The Gaspé municipal council adopted three resolutions on September 8 to submit the water and sewer supply projects for Rivière-au-Renard and L'Anse-au-Griffon, for a total value of $63 million.
describes planned water and wastewater infrastructure upgrades in Rivière-au-Renard. That makes checking for an outfall worthwhile, but establishes no cause.

I havent looked into any of the claims, nor does this video establish a connection to Nimitz. The comparisons I feel are unavoidable.

The company Les Agrès de Pêche ACPG Inc.—formerly known as Agrès de pêche CHP—has been part of the Gaspé landscape since 1987 and has been owned by the ACPG since 1997. Located in the Rivière-au-Renard industrial park, the company specializes in the sale and manufacture of fishing gear. It provides exceptional service to fishers and the local community.

The drone video appears to show numerous birds being attracted to the disturbance, which suggests to me that (a) it's a fairly frequent occurrence that the local gulls know about, and (b) it's something they find worth checking out. A sewage release would fit the bill – either with stuff the birds might want to eat directly (yuck) or, more likely, attracting fish which the birds will prey on (slightly less yuck, but still yuck).

I'd have thought that off-cuts from fish processing might have been more likely?

great work on finding this, my power is off for scheduled maintenance until 5 GMT and will look further later.

The pipeline seems to be the leading hypothesis at present. I would be interested in establishing what the deep is at the pipe exit and whether it sewage or industrial/processing waste that's pumped.

I should of also mentioned that UFO/USO talked had already started in the reddit post and that I have reached out to the OP for a firmer location and as yet no response

EDIT-LMAO took me 30mins to post this without Broadband and some points had already been stated

It doesn't have to be that, any water disturbance forces fish etc up and gulls will naturally go there, they follow even non fishing boats because the wash brings things to the surface.

It's absolutely amazing to watch a flock of gulls following a farmer harrowing a field.

Just to explain this, it was French soccer player Eric Cantona's response when asked about the media and why they focus on him. The seagulls metaphor was to say that is not because journalists and the public want good news stories, they want the bad.

"After the [court] judgment they [Manchester United] absolutely wanted me to speak to the press. I didn't want to but they said it's important you have to speak to the press. So I said, OK I will speak to the press, in the sense that they want me to speak – I'll say any old thing.

"They wanted me to speak, I spoke. It just came out and then I left. And the press, they all tried to find a sense to it and make it all philosophical. You know, it just came out like that; maybe it came from my subconscious and maybe unconsciously it created a sense, but the best sense of it was, you make me speak, I speak and who cares whether the words make sense."

When I was a child (back when dinosaurs still walked the earth) I took a trans-Atlantic voyage back when ships were still throwing all their kitchen garbage overboard. Huge flocks of gulls would follow the ship all the way across the ocean.

Further investigation has identified two different water systems in the area, which may help establish the purpose of the underwater pipes.

1. Saltwater pumping station — fish-processing industry

The first pumping station identified by @flarkey near the harbour has a sign reading "Poste de pompage / Adduction d'eau salée" (Saltwater Supply Pumping Station).

This is likely the seawater pumping facility supplying the local fish-processing industry, including mussel purification.

A 2005 Quebec National Assembly discussion confirms that the City of Gaspé operated a seawater pumping system supplying fish-processing businesses.

A technical study on mussel purification (PDF), page 4, specifically identifies Pêcheries Rivière-au-Renard as receiving seawater from the industrial park's pumping system, whose intake screen was located at a depth of 12 metres.

This suggests the first pumping station is associated with seawater intake rather than sewage discharge.

2. Municipal sewage-treatment system and offshore outfalls

Separately, Quebec government records identify the Rivière-au-Renard municipal wastewater-treatment station at:

48.9921748, -64.3744194

View coordinates on Google Maps

Official Quebec government wastewater-treatment record

The facility uses fine-screening treatment and lists the St. Lawrence as its receiving water.

Furthermore, Canadian Sailing Directions, ATL 110, paragraph 43 (PDF) confirms several offshore outfall pipes near Pointe au Renard, including one extending 280 metres northeast.

On the nautical chart, the rightmost pipe appears particularly interesting. Its position in relatively shallow water seems broadly consistent with the Reddit OP's description of approximately 5 feet (1.5 metres) of water, although this needs checking against chart depths and tidal conditions.

Again this the chart and pipe location identified by @flarkey appearances to aligned well with the sewage discharge station

The combination of documented sewage infrastructure, charted offshore outfalls, historical satellite imagery and the OP's observations makes an underwater discharge a promising explanation.

I had to use Ai as a lot of the documents etc are in french

Bait balls can have the triple whammy of bait disturbing the surface, gull activity and whale activity.

the Reddit op stated it started spontaneously and covered a large area. It lasted approx 5 mins with no mention of boats etc in the area from OP either("and more" probably should be "or more" maybe?)
