Unknown flying insect or object

I am curious to know if anyone has an idea of what this insect or object is. I was recording in my backyard and caught the object on video. I have looked at every frame that I have of it and still can't identify it. I work outside in the pest control industry and have never seen an insect like this. I have recorded and analyzed hundreds of my video's and have never caught one of these on video until now.

Not a clue mate, but have you got a local wildlife group around your manor? My local group have helped me in the past identify a few oddities I've spotted over they years. Send em the shots and see what they say.

It looks like a "rod" long exposure fast moving insect with beating wings. Notice there are wings in different position in different shots. The wings are only really visible at certain angles, so are likely transparent. So maybe a bee or wasp?

you really need to give people a chance at helping you by giving a location (ie. are you in Japan?) and a date. Plus the video would be helpful.

It was 2 days ago in Duncan, SC. It appears at :14 if you can make anything out through the horrible youtube quality.

Possibly, but I have never seen anything appear from a long exposure on my video's and wasps shape and wings are usually easily visible. This is a shot of a wasp in the same video. Screenshot_20171016-214840.jpg

Looking at the video it does not appear to be anything of interest. It's obviously either an insect or something like a falling leaf.

I don't get why you are even asking about it. What do you think it might be if not an insect or a falling object?

I don't know how fast it is moving, but I don't see how it would be possible for a leaf to fall that fast unless there was a hurricane or something. I consider things hard to identify pretty interesting. It doesn't look like any insect that I have seen before and appears in pretty decent focus for how fast it looks. I would guess insect if I had to, but looks faster and larger than a dragonfly. Wings are also easier to identify on most occasions.

using VLC player and grabbing frame by frame, it is only 7 frames. the video says it is 30 frames per second.

so the thing is moving fast. I agree with Mick it is most likely motion blur.

edit add: there is a very good chance my math is wrong. I'm multiplying 720 px height by 4. at 2000px the blur could be as much as...

Hmm.....I admit, it's super fast and a little peculiar.

Think it might have that shape from motion blur...
or inanimate object just falling (though I can't imagine a leaf falling that fast).

Hard to imagine why an insect would be headed that fast toward the ground...
so I'm going with "mini-golf pencil" hurled by frustrated politician who still finds it too big to hold.
