Our Lady of Assuit Need Debunking

Are you claiming only the sky can be a dark background?

There's no question that sometimes the video shows the church. But the video is an edited compilation. It is not continuous footage.

The footage from approx. 01:27 to approx. 02:02, from which your 01:59 still comes, does not show the church or anything else that is recognizable as far as I can see. It does not have the camera clock displayed like footage of the church has.
Some people might choose to interpret it as a light in the sky filmed near the church at the relevant time, but there is no evidence for this is except that it was included in this video.

If it is footage of a light in the sky, that doesn't mean it is inherently mysterious. Aircraft lights, celestial bodies can be seen from near churches. The footage is poorly focussed and stabilised, making any interpretation of what is shown very difficult.
No one in the video says "This was in the sky at the time".

What else could it be if not the sky? And it's clearly not aircraft lights or anything of that sort.

I mean just look at this light:

It appears extremely fast. It couldn't be an aircraft. Could this be video editing? It looks fake to me.

I don't know what you mean. The lights are clearly nearby the church and I think it demands an explanation.
It really doesn't. You have been provided an explanation. You may agree or disagree with it. If you think it is something please prove proof to support your claim as the Posting Guidelines require.

Don't just post something and say "what do you guys think?".

The fact that nobody can come up with a reasonable explanation is why it demands explanation.

How can this light which appears in half a second be an aircraft or whatever?

Unexplained or not explained thoroughly does not mean "extraordinary" or supernatural.
We just have a bunch of low quality photos of lights around a church.
If there were more videos, from more angles, then we could analyze them and come up with an explanation that can satisfy you.
But until then, there's not much to work on (photo quality is very low, info is scarce).
Are there other videos that we can see, or are we left with a bunch of ambiguous frames?
One thing that will surely not work around here is spamming the idea that since we cannot properly identify a light, then it means it's unexplainable under the current scientific paradigm.

So this light which appears for a half a second is possibly an aircraft light? Or a celestial body?

I'm sorry for being difficult. I just really want to put this to rest but this seems so compelling.

I don't think anybody is suggesting this particular thing is an aircraft, just that some of the lights that appear in various shots, could be aircraft.

As has been noted repeatedly there are a number of problems with this video related to explaining what's being seen.

First are the questions of provenience and provenance. Provenience refers to the exact origin or spot where something is discovered. In this case, it refers to the origin of the video: Who recorded this? When did they record it? Where were they? What equipment were they using? Provenance refers to the chain of custody of the video after it was created. What happened to the original video after it was created? Who had it? How did it end up in this YouTube post?

These are some of the first questions you should ask yourself when watching a video that claims to show something anomalous or supernatural. Who created this and where did it come from? People frequently keep this information hidden so as to make the video appear more mysterious and difficult to explain. For example, the time coded video allowed @Giddierone to show, even if the time stamp is a bit off, it's clear the mysterious light behind the church was just the moon.

As for this light you find compelling, it's part of a sequence that is mostly just black, with some occasional flashes of light. It seems to go from 4:24 to 4:42, so around 20 seconds. If you queue up to 4:24 on YouTube, you can use the < and > keys to scrub through the sequence 1 frame at a time. If you do that, you'll find most of it is just black. In some cases there are lights of some sort at the very extreme bottom of the screen:

Sometimes faint ghost images appear for a single frame:

And sometimes clearer images appear, again for a single frame:

However, note that the clearer images, again 1 frame each, are of different things:

It appears one attempted to create a sequence of a single camera recording a series of flashes, but the scene keeps changing. In the emiddle of all this is your odd shaped light:

Which appearsagain a number of frames later, in exactly the same spot:

1786674558657.png

It's just 2 random frames from a collection of random appearing frames. There is no context at all, aside from the other random frames proceeding and following it. Some of those frames that show parts of the church, each show different views, suggesting they are not related in time and space. The object you find compelling only appears as 1 frame, with the surrounding frames being completely black. This appears to be an edited sequence of random stuff that is unrelated.

Therefore we can draw no conclusion about what this object is or where it is. It's completely out of context and likely something mundane, rather than a spiritual manifestation of some sort.

I don't know what you mean. The lights are clearly nearby the church and I think it demands an explanation.
If what I said was meaningless, then perhaps the explanation was precisely as meaningless when you used exactly the same words earlier in the thread. If you don't even recognise your own arguments when they are repeated back to you, then perhaps you should pay more attention to the arguments you are making.

All the evidence shows is that there are lights in sight of a church, some of which are pointing at the camera, some of which are pointing at the church. There is nothing mysterious about any of this: we know lights exist, and can point in all directions.

You have presented nothing that "demands an explanation" beyond the mundane.

So this light which appears for a half a second is possibly an aircraft light? Or a celestial body?

@shawnfrye

I've looked at the video and the first thing that I noticed is that is a badly edited, disjointed mess. It is also of very poor visual quality and low resolution. It also has no narration or text in it, to describe its contents.

Many parts of that video has been addressed by others here, but as you recently taken a strong interest in the the part shown in the image above, I'll address that.

Firstly, where I found it in the video, it does not appear for 1/2 a second, it appears for a single frame, at 04:27:27. So as the video is 30fps, then it appears for 1/30th of a second. It also appears again for a single frame, when the "black screen" section of the video (04:24:01 to 04:27:27) is repeated from 04:27:28 onwards.

Below is the sequence of what is seen leading up to that single frame of the video, in which the grey shape appears.

04:24:01 - The view changes from that of a domed building to a black screen. This is not a continuation of the view of the building it is a hard cut to different content, with different audio and there is no context for what it shows. It could be a view of the sky, or it could be anything else that can appear black.
04-21-01.png

Between 04:24:01 and a couple of frames before the shape you are interested in appears at 04:27:27, the view remains black. That is except for a few isolated, single frames, that appear to show a view of what looks part of a rounded section of a building with a domed roof. Here is one example that appears at 04:25:05.
04-25-05.png

At the 04:27:25 (2 frames before the grey shape appears) the image below is seen for two frames. It's very dark (see the image below this, for a better view), but appears to show a different part of the building (or something else entirely), to that seen in the image above (frame 04:25:05).
04-27-25.png

Here is the 04:27:25 frame with higher contrast, so you can see the part on the right side more clearly. The same view is seen in the next frame, 04:27:26. This feature (possibly part of a building), does not have the same rounded shapes of the previously seen building (e.g. at 04:25:05) and seems to have an additional vertical feature at the top, such as a flagpole (assuming this is a view of part of a building).
04-27-25-contrast.png

At 04:27:27, the shape that you are interested in, appears for just one frame. It does not contain the feature on the right side of the image (possibly part of a building) that was seen in the previous two frames. In fact, it does seem to contain any discernable features of any significant size, other than the pale grey shape.
04-27-27.png

So, what can be derived from this. I think there are two possibilities.

1. The structure on the right of the image (possibly part of a building), seen in frames 04:27:25 and 04:27:26, somehow became completely black (or so dark they were not visible against the background) for just the one frame (04:27:27) in which the gray shape appears. This seems extremely unlikely.

2. The gray shape "appears" because the single frame in which it is seen, is where a cut is made to an image showing it, from the different view seen in the previous 2 frames. This possibility seems far more likely.

The black sections of the video appear to be nothing more than some noisy black video, with occasional single frames of images of various views of parts of buildings, edited in as a "flash" for a single frame. Where the same feature appears for two consecutive frames (04:27:25 and 04:27:26), this was probably by accident and was intended to be a single frame edit, as the others are. That's kind of mistake is very easy to do when editing video.

I can see nothing in those single frames appearances of things, that suggests anything other than them being edited in deliberately, to make it look like they appearing out of nowhere.

Those sudden appearances look fake, similar to the way that old movies would sometimes show a cut from a scene, to a bolt of lightning in the sky, for dramatic effect.

So, @shawnfrye can you give a reason why that single frame appearances of the grey shape, could not have been edited in?
