Geogebra tool to compare distances on a Flat Earth with a Globe

This looks like a neat tool. I don't know who made it or how accurate it is, but it says the distance from Australia to New Zealand on a flat Earth would be 3526 miles, compared to 1309 miles on a globe.

So I compared that to the length of the Tasman Global Access (TGA) Cable, which is 2288 km or 1422 miles. The cable would be way too short for a flat Earth.

Thanks for mentioning the cable length. I had not thought of that, but undersea cable lengths are an imteresting way to answer "How do you know it is that far?" type questions when discussing the distortions on a flat map vs. distances in the actual world.
