No I think most outside your apologist bubble around the world would agree with me .

You haven't traveled outside of the US have you? If you had you'd realize just how inaccurate that statement is.

Look up the approval ratings of our government should also tell you something .

A low approval rating does not equal tyranny.

Insurance and Finance Hmm ?

What?

Look, if the gov't had decided on a medicare-for-all single-payer system there would be a different group of people yelling "tyranny".

I don't like the ACA much either, I would prefer medicare-for-all but I'm not going around claiming it's tyranny just because things didn't go my way. In fact, even though I don't agree with the ACA, I will benefit from it through the expansion of the Oregon Health Plan. That's how it goes in a democracy, sometimes ya win, sometimes ya lose, but only losers whine about losing.

How is it inaccurate ? So your for single payer ? Dont worry thats where they are taking us . I dont think Government is the answer for many things especially my healthcare . Its a trojan horse

At 14 years old I was subjected to the tyranny of Canada's government imposed universal health care system. They medevaced me 1500km from a remote Inuit village to one of the most renowned childrens hospitals in the western world. Within a day they had removed my appendix. I've been searching for it ever since.

Help me Ted Cruz!

yes and many Canadians travel to the US for healthcare .

yes they do I know quite a few.

Oh I'm sure you do. They're no doubt seeking to escape the primitive Canadian medical practices and rusty syringes. One wonders why Canadian health cards and identification procedures are constantly being upgraded to reduce cross border fraud.

Why would Americans illegally seek health care in Canada?

yes they do I know quite a few . it isnt about healthcare in America it is Redistribution of wealth not just to the poorer but to the wealthy . Also is about winning elections

No, they don't. But apparently you know all of them.

This study was undertaken to quantify the nature and extent of use by Canadians of medical services provided in the United States. It is frequently claimed, by critics of single-payer public health insurance on both sides of the border, that such use is large and that it reflects Canadian patients’ dissatisfaction with their inadequate health care system. All of the evidence we have, however, indicates that the anecdotal reports of Medicare refugees from Canada are not the tip of a southbound iceberg but a small number of scattered cubes. The cross-border flow of care-seeking patients appears to be very small.

99.39% of Canadians do NOT come to the US for healthcare of any sort.
0.5% come to the US because they choose to, mostly they're wealthier.
0.11% come to the US for emergency care.

The ACA is NOT a moving towards medicare-for-all, quite the opposite actually in that it further entrenches the insurance industry. Nobody that I know of who supports medicare-for-all thinks the ACA is a step in that direction.

Thanks for those figures.

Also, of the Canadian patients that get care in the US, what percentage of them have dual citizenship. What percentage are seeking elective or cosmetic surgery.

What the...? Please, do pay attention. It was a peer-reviewed study published in the journal Health Affairs, AARP just carried an article about it, did you totally overlook the first link to the actual study? Others did their own stories on the study, including the Wall Street Journal's Marketwatch.

The Canadian Medical Association carried it as well.
