Does it, though? The clouds are moving left, the disk is moving right, but the "filament" seem to actually move right, with the disk. The problem is that there's too much video compression to see what is really happening. Solid hot object...

The video quality should not be a surprise, it should be expected. The good, sharp footage, in whhich you can clearly see the Chinese fire lanterns, does not get submitted as unidentified.

Is that a safe assumption? Statements from these releases and AARO more generally seem to indicate that AARO is the only body trying to id this stuff, and only for recent cases, and only then because that's what congress explicitly created them...
