The drone/camera is moving south away from the turbines, in what I guess is a pretty straight line, but it's climbing up.
The camera then rotates to follow the thing.
A good day for clouds here with lots of towering convection mingled with clear blue skies and altocumulus.

I thought about that; it might have been. I do wipe the lens off periodically so maybe something got on it, but it's not in the pic taken right because (or after). I did notice an unusual dark area in cloud in sky at time. But was more focused...
I wondered if it might be dirt on the sensor. I get it in some photos on my phone but not others, depending on zoom level and focus. But it's somewhat repeatable, so if you don't see it in any other pics, it probably isn't.
