I've been investigating a Reddit post from Chile

Below is the Sitrec Chatbot output

Let's process the provided date, time, and location.
  1. Location: Iquique Airport (Diego Aracena International Airport), Chile
    • The approximate coordinates for Iquique Airport are:
      • Latitude: -20.5644
      • Longitude: -70.1806
  2. Date and Time:
    • Given: April 7, 2026, at 19:28 local time (CLT, UTC-3) since Chile observes Chile Standard Time in April.
  3. Convert to UTC:
    • 19:28 CLT is 19:28 + 3 hours = 22:28 UTC on April 7, 2026.
Now, let's generate the links using the provided coordinates and converted time:

Sitrec show's a light sky, but it was dark in the video and is dark as far as Stellarium says as well

Chile is in Chile Standard time after Apr 4, that it UTC-4, so add another hour.

The chatbot made a mistake. What model do you have it set to in Sitrec/Settings?

Oh, wait, that's the "Sitrec Chatbot", not the Sitrec Assistant. I've not updated the underlying models there (or used it) for a while. Let me try the AI assistant...

That's the 1st time its made a time zone error, I got complacent and not having CLT in the drop down in sitrec means I didn't notice until I checked it with suncalc

mea culpa

So when I use GPT-5 Mini, it gives UTC-3 (wrong). But switching to Claude Opus 4.8 it gives the correct UTC-4

So I guess the simple solution is to use the better AI model wherever possible. I'll see if I can update the ChatBase one - but I've not looked at it for a year or so.
