March-emtrail

Purely anecdotal, but it has seemed to me for some years that the chemtrail rhetoric online really ramps up in March.

How could I go about gathering data to see if this is the case or if it's just my perception (beyond asking here if other people feel it's a thing too, which I am interested in)?

And if it is a thing, why might it be so? Do contrails persist more in March? Are we just seeing more of the sky now it's spring? Or something else entirely?

It might just be that the weather conditions are more conducive to the formation of contrails. If there's colder air at lower altitudes, there's more opportunities for them to form. However, the cold nights with clearer skies we get over here in late winter and early spring are also associated with lower humidity, which is counterindicated for contrail formation/persistence.

Maybe it's just "slow news month" for this kind of thing?

As an airline guy I can tell you that March is the beginning of the "Chemtrail Season".
We get the Rothschild/Soros funding in January but it usually takes until March for them to decide on mind control or sterilization, then produce and distribute the chemicals.
They like us to spray thru the summer til September because people spend more time outdoors.

This is just between us, so don't tell anyone please.

Made these t-shirts a few years ago. I have actually had people stop me and ask if it's a real thing.

I am concerned that we'll be seeing the above post quoted by the conspiracy theorists as a seriously-intended "confession" appearing on MetaBunk...

It might just be that the weather conditions are more conducive to the formation of contrails.
It might also have to do with this being Spring up here in the Northern Hemisphere, and people are getting back outside where the sky can be seen more often?

So, you ramp up in March for full summer coverage of all the people outside. But that only works in the Northern hemisphere. Summer down under is our winter, so if @MyMatesBrainwashed is in Oz, he should note an uptick in reports long about October.

And what about trans-equatorial flights? Say a flight from Salt Lake City (SLC) to Sydney (SYD) in July. Do you just spray the approved chemicals from SLC to the west coast and shut it down over the Pacific, then not bother in Sydney, as it's winter there? Do you just always spray when between the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn, because in the tropics, it's always summer?

Something's not adding up here .

I've never really considered there to be a "contrail season" here in the UK - they appear at any time of year as the air is almost always cold enough at cruising height here. So it's pretty much dependent on (a) whether there is enough humidity up there and (b) whether you can actually see enough of the sky to spot them. Given that we have just had an extremely overcast winter, it's been fairly rare that you can see any contrails above the low cloud.

A common complaint seems to be "first sunny day and they start spraying", when really it's "first time this month you can actually see up to 30,000 feet"!

These questions and this kind of critical thinking is exactly why we need to spray more in the southern hemisphere. I just reported this up to the "Top Men".

My quest for data supporting the supposed observation has, so far, only gone as far as asking Google...

do comments across social media show an increase in talk about chemtrails around the month of march
It says...
Yes, discussions regarding the "chemtrail" conspiracy theory frequently see a surge on social media and internet searches around the spring and summer months, including March, as clear skies or specific weather patterns make contrails more visible.
BBC +1
While there isn't one singular, exclusive March peak, the topic often trends during this period, fueled by seasonal weather changes and renewed interest in atmospheric conditions.
BBC +2
  • Seasonal Trends: The highest concentrations of chemtrail discussions often appear on sunny mornings or during spring/summer, where persistent contrails (vapour trails) are misinterpreted as harmful chemical spraying.
  • Recent Activity: Reports have indicated high interest in early spring, with fact-checkers noting spikes in debunks starting in April and increasing through the spring/summer travel season. In 2025, one study identified a peak in UK chemtrail interest in May, with rising, high-volume activity in the months leading up to it.
  • Political Activity: Legislative action surrounding "chemtrails" (or, in official terms, weather modification) has surfaced in state meetings in March, with lawmakers reporting high volumes of constituent complaints during this time, often focusing on geoengineering bans.
  • Driver of Conversation: The belief in chemtrails often spikes after unusual weather events or in late spring when weather modification and "weather steering" conspiracies become more active on social media.
    The Guardian +4
The chatter on platforms like Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) frequently surges when cold, humid air allows aircraft condensation trails to persist for long periods, leading users to photograph and share them as "evidence".
I think the last bits a bit misleading suggesting more persistence rather then being able to see them more frequently.

I'm not sure the answer justifies the starting "yes" either. The answer seems more "kind of". That chatter about them calms down in Winter is possibly more of a factor. And of course what other distractions there might be going on. Slow conspiracy day? Let's fall back on chemtrails.

you gave it a leading prompt, which the AI you're presumably quoting will attempt to confirm, making the response doubly worthless
I kinda wanted to disagree cos I don't think it's a leading question. But then presumably a question is not the same as a prompt. Would that be correct?

Forgive my ignorance on asking prompting AI.

I did note the "Yes" didn't really match the summary.
