Take a look at this footage from the Nasa live feed camera - it clearly shows the UAP communicating with the ISS by flashing light twice...

This appears to be a video of the Earth, with cities and other illuminated areas visible as the ISS flies over. The things that look like stars are stuck pixels.

The flashing light could be a flash from the city, like a spotlight, or a camera glitch.

It is not "clearly showing communication with the ISS".

If this were a laser pointer shining from the ground it would in fact be an attempt at communication. By humans, rather than aliens.

The lightning hypothesis needs a bit more analysis - what does lightning look like from orbit?

This Youtube video includes a 'fireball' (a meteor bolide) and a lightning storm (very much sped up). Both are definitely visible from the ISS under the right circumstances.

There's some discussion of the opposite effect - green lasers (LIDAR) fired from the space shuttle toward earth (which was in a lower orbit than the ISS) seen on the ground in this other Metabunk thread here: #18
