Evolution of Perpetual Motion, WORKING Free Energy Generator fake?

Hello, I don't know if there is already a thread about this, but I tried searching for it and I couldn't find one.
When I was in a school a while back I was showed this video by a teacher of a supposed "working perpetual motion machine." At that time I was aware that perpetual motion was thought to be impossible due to the laws of thermodynamics however, I lacked the knowledge necessary to debunk it myself.

The video in question is this:

and the specific part which I was shown starts at 1:59

I decided to ask a science teacher but they couldn't figure it. out (It's worth noting that they weren't a physics teacher.)

As far as I know, this could not be a perpetual motion machine because the magnets would lose power over time and eventually stop working.

Besides this, I found this post on Overunity.com where somebody posting as the person who made the original video admits that the video was a hoax and that the machine was being a blown by compressed air off-screen. That can be found here: https://overunity.com/10034/new-permanent-magnet-motor-on-youtube-from-roobert33/540/

I have also attached the photographs from the original forum post here.

Thanks.

The physical law of the conservation of energy debunks every free energy generator that works at a non-relativistic scale (i.e. every one produced by a private inventor, but not the big bang).

From roobert33 on the overunity forum:

As you can see, the rods are made of aluminum.
They are neither magnets or ferrite.
The big magnet on top of the bracket is made of colored gray wood
The small magnet at the bottom is made of colored gray wood.
The brass weight serves to balance the weight of the rotor

The pictures below show the construction of a copy of the original model.

The images at the bottom show a compressed air nozzle attached to a yellow hose directed at the model.
However, I have already explained you that the V-gate can't just work alone, if so, it would be the perpetual motion, you realize it or not? I would do the most sensational discovery of the millennium ...
And you think, I would be now here at the Forum to waste time arguing about it?

The latter is the common sense debunk: if such a thing existed in a way that can be replicated, it's easy to convince authorities (like the physics department of your closest university) and gain expert endorsement.

Thank you for your input on this. It does seem like common sense that if this video really did prove perpetual motion, it would be shown to scientists all around the world and not uploaded to YouTube to receive a few million views.

It's also telling that there is a lack of people who have been able to replicate the device and show it working.

By the way, how do you quote directly from the website as you do in this post? Sorry if it's obvious, but I have only just started posting here and haven't gotten to grips with how everything works yet.

You use the ex tag... and then you copy and paste the text between the ex tags. So you aren't really quoting directly from the website. You are copying and pasting text from the website and using tags to say it is a quote.

It will work as long as you have someone manipulating that magnet. But when the magnet becomes a part of the machine itself, it won't work.

Ellie: What about when the same poles of two magnets repel? It must take energy to push like that.
Beakman: Yeah, but who's doing the pushing? The magnets, or you?

The How-To forum (some bits might be slightly outdated as the software was updated recently, but the ex tags tutorial is upto date)
