The psychology of the CT believers

I think it's pretty obvious in how the vast majority of CTs write, that it is an emotional element, has nothing to do with intelligence in most cases. Although not understanding the science or facts of a matter certainly doesn't help the situation of falling for woo.

Einstein: "Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance"

...from its original meaning and evolved in over two centuries, particularly how it seems to have regularly been appropriated to justify belief in "woo". I think for me some quotes are so good they can stand up on their own, so it barely matters who really said it. Like the old "The...

DEBUNKED - 9/11 aircraft black boxes weren't recovered

My mistake, as Oystein pointed out I assumed he was a truther because his paper was written with Frank Legge and is hosted by the Jones journal of woo.

The pre-collapse inward bowing of WTC2

I agree. If we refused to accept "reversed burden of proof" AND wouldn't discuss woo - most of these discussions over last 13 years could have been avoided. But remember status of stable doors and location of equus.

Debunked: The Great pyramid of Giza and the Speed of Light

...into similar ratios and show other similarities. This isn't exactly coincidence, its a sort of convergent development of mathematical understanding and technological development, and is no way proof of alien visitation, coded occult messages or any other kind of new age woo you care to mention.

Needs Debunking: NYPD transmission, 9/11 Exploding Mural Van"

I picked this up, from a reasonable punter, at this forum http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread564141/pg1 "Notice how the police are talking about "remote controlled plane"? According to someone who lives in NYC, the actual image on the side of the van showed more a military plane with...

"Is it that the internet has simply revealed to me that everyone is mental" No, you are just more likely to experience more of those who have, shall we say, thought disorders :) But i will agree that the internet has made the amount of misinformation a larger problem. But rest assured, those...

Has the 9/11 Truth Movement Stagnated?

...There is no possibility whatsoever that an order of 1 million Americans (0.3% of the population) will ever come close to supporting their woo. Here is why: D) The "ReThink911" petition. Im 2013, Gage and AE911Truth ran a major campaign they called "Rethink911": http://rethink911.org/...

...to me to sign up after watching AE911's most recent film [...] and doing a point-by-point rebuttal thereof. I'm particularly interested in medical conspiracy theories, bad science, and "woo". :) (Also, just out of curiosity, would such a rebuttal be welcomed/appropriate in the 9/11 forum?)

I'd suggest a focus on that phrase. Just a thought.... Cheers1

Dane Wigington - Inaccuracies and Omissions

THAT is one of my tenets....it IS "hard to tell" whether a person who advocates "woo" is a 'true believer' in that "woo", or just a scam artist.

Debunked: Ian Simpson's Presentation at the 2015 Cambridge SRM Conference

"owow" !! Great job, Trailblazer...thank you. I don't really understand how a guy spouting such woo gets 15 minutes at a real conference, but hey, there it is. I did take some comfort in some of the questions...even though many of the scientists must have been startled by such wild claims...

    Debunking Vaccine Myths

"Homeopathy" is woo. It has no basis in fact, and no repeatable and demonstrable ability to actually do anything. (edit to add): http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2010/02/26/your-friday-dose-of-woo-how-do-you-make/

Debunked: Alien Base on the Moon, Triangle of Dots [photo artifact]

...could equally be debris on the plate when the original film print was digitally scanned, I'm guessing. The location could be easily found in lat/long and investigated on newer hi-res digital imagery, but if it's not there, the woo-woo explanation will be that it flew away, proving it was a UFO.

You didn't supply the debunking. Other people did. You get no thumbs up for their efforts.

    Is Barium in Jet Fuel?

Of course not. I just wanted to put some "REAL" info back into Metabunk. Too much woo and woo-denial still makes the woo the topic. Landru's an ace as far as I'm concerned. :)

Debunked: Bruce Lipton and The Biology of Belief

I would agree. The statement "society has been harmed more by beliefs"...is, a CORRECT STATEMENT.
