Hey all.
I love seeing the new discussions, and the fun of logic pushed against the power of story telling. That said...I am one of the weird folks that is fascinated watching the night sky and it's many interesting offerings. I live in Windham, Maine. Not really a hotspot of much lately, but I have a Sionyx Aurora Pro coming this weekend before heading into the woods for a week off with the family. I would LOVE to be used as a resource for comparison videos of the stuff so commonly called "uap", or "ufo" on youtube. So many birds, bugs, planes, satellites are being used to push a false science. I would love to see something that cannot be explained.
It would be fun, and interesting in many ways. But...when I go bass fishing, it would be fun to pull up 15lb fish every night, and if I hold the fish close enough to camera when taking pictures, I could convince 99% of the population that I am. It doesn't make it real. My "sky fishing" is fun because I lead with logic and skeptism and hope that something that challenges reason occurs. Hasn't yet....at least not for me.
At first I thought a site focused on airing claims to daylight, logic and data would be a huge turn off, but I wish more of the "ufo hunter" types understood that it is giving respect and time to claims that are used falsely by folks like Greer and others for financial gain and fame. They NEVER take a minute to do the science applied here, and in my opinion that shows they don't love and respect these topics. They use what they can and magnify it, lie about and sell it. Sorry to be so long winded....I had a tasty caffeine drink 20 minutes ago and I am feeling yappy. (please don't debunk the effects of caffeine on humans...it will ruin me!)
So again...if there is any footage that you would like gathered for baselines from someone who will film the sky with a skeptical eye just enyoying it's mystery and beauty, request away. I will be filming year round, and from interesting locations for perspective as time allows. Warmest regards to the boffins here.
