So therefore they should be detectable - repeatedly, predicably and objectively. And therefore if they are not detected then we could postulate that absence of evidence is, in that case, evidence of absence , ie non-existence. (Probably).

That video (at least for me) is very low quality (480p) with lots of compression artifacts, which seems like it would get in the way of the "proper" illusion. For me the illusion is strongest when my finger is stationary or moving slowly... -
