What is your evidence that these two images were captured from the same platform? Different platforms won't match, as artefacts like diffraction spikes and lens flares are intimately related to the geometry of the optics.

    Doesn't match flare

Would love to know if this group has a "better" explanation for what might have happened in Varginha in 1996? I watched the film (more than I can say for most people commenting in here, but oh well). In my analysis, something clearly happened...

I keep going back to this site as it's the only one that seems to make any sense. If you look at it in 3D view and have the North point at the 2 o'clock position like it is in the video It has two types of turbines seen in the same order as the...

But atually, I already see something useful This is the camera heading indicator, showing how much it's left or right of the centerline And, it matches my simulation! I'll have to add a levels slider to Sitrec so we can see this easier.

I'm not 100% sure what this means. but I think what you are describing is that sometimes the camera is panning with the object and sometimes it is more stationery to the background, and the object seems to cross the background at the same rate...

The shooting distances of the two videos are completely different. In the first video, the parachute is already so far away that it is almost invisible, appearing even smaller on the infrared imaging than the glare of the flare suspended below...

A few years ago I made a video about various "anomalies" in the photos from the Apollo 7 and Gemini 11 missions, in response to several videos of "UFOs" in those mission. I researched the history of these photos, from storage to scanning. If I'm...

https://www.dr.dk/drtv/se/droner-over-danmark_596478 I think you can only see it in Denmark and with a login, but there are nothing new for people like us. I hope the general public starts questioning though.

To answer my first question. There is no parachute, it's clearly lens flare. Embarrassing you guys came to that conclusion. If you observe the video closely you will notice the distance between the claimed parachute and the central object...

A parachuting flare is a proposed hypothesis that fits the visuals at first glance; however, it may be a good example of dynamic pareidolia, instead of "nonsense", or a reason for embarrassment. Other hypotheses are that the "parachute" might...

But the footage is IR right? So the "color information" in the video has nothing to do with the light of any hypothetical laser.
