I'm not 100% sure what this means. but I think what you are describing is that sometimes the camera is panning with the object and sometimes it is more stationery to the background, and the object seems to cross the background at the same rate...
What is your evidence that these two images were captured from the same platform? Different platforms won't match, as artefacts like diffraction spikes and lens flares are intimately related to the geometry of the optics.

But bear in mind that birds are well insulated! Looking at thermal imagery of birds, they sometimes appear pretty hot, sometimes pretty cold, though often with hot spots where they lack feathers (feet, eyes, beak)...
