This explanation is so obvious and fits perfectly into the internal logic of the UFO industry. At the same time, I still find it difficult to grasp whether these people genuinely lack the ability to think rationally and recognize things clearly... -

Damage is not required for a threat to national security, which you can always invoke without implying aliens. While I don't deny this, I think appearing to be doing something while actually doing nothing is a bigger motivator.

The fact that they are afraid of them (or pretend to) doesn't prove UAP are a threat. UAP never caused any damage. (As I like to say, birds are a bigger threat to aviation. Ask Sully Sullenberger.) What this looks like is politicians...

I haye trouble believing that the edge of the artifact would be so nicely rounded if that was the case. As with similar theories, a demonstration of how it was done (or existing examples) would go a long way towards supporting that theory.

Burchett sincerely believe, though that is not incompatible with recognizing that "proof" of a coverup, while not as much fun as finding proof of aliens... -
