The first text I got back from our daughter-in-law, also a Bio-archaeologist was "Bovid ET!" Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get any clarification on that yet. Maybe?

News outlets are reporting another FAA airspace closure today around Fort Hancock, Texas, after a reported accidental shoot down of a CBP drone by DoD. A statement was posted on X by the the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure...

I tried bovide first, but finding a matching skull is harder, given the large variety. This one was the best match I had before trying deer:

Interesting. I'd been looking at dog and coyote skulls, but to my (untrained) eye that looks like a better fit. I'm still not sure whose sacrum that is between the legs. Goat is not a bad match, horse also looks reasonably good...

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this claim. The obvious answer is that someone(s) is trying to capitalize on the Nazca Mummies. Many of those have reportedly been sold to collectors, so why not give that a try in Mexico. I will say I'm...

A couple corrections to the 1st post. Contrary to what I wrote, T.W. Mock is not a war veteran, he was a civilian contractor in Iraq. He was also from an affluent family, although he stated he was left penniless when he was an adult teenager and...

There's one in my (heavily wooded) back yard right now. I've had them nearly every year, but for the last three the barred owls have taken over instead. This year the great horned owls are back again. Seldom seen, but often heard.

Dang I keep coming back to these guys... not a 100% match, but it hits a lot of points reasonably well. Great horned owl sounds: Source: https://youtu.be/pvaIyjyw5gs?t=165 Regarding the aroma, it may be worth noting that: Great Horned Owls...

Human memory isn’t ”flawed”, and I don’t think anyone is claiming such a thing. What actual memory science shows (decades of research, Elizabeth Loftus and others) is that memory isn't a video recording—it doesn't passively store events like a...
