    It's absolutely within the gamut of effects cosmic rays can produce. Groups are not super common, but not super rare either, it just means the cosmic ray decayed close to the sensor. Lots of examples here...

    Not at all. You can have light without a solid object. Sure. Lights can come from physical objects, like aircraft, drones, stars, or satellites. But lights can also come from effects without a solid object, such as reflections, lens flares...
