Ventura Point Surf Cam - Dec 4, 2025

A surfer friend of mine sent me these videos of lights in the sky and asked what I thought they were. They were taken from the surf line cam at ventura point in Ventura, California. Here is a link to the cam website:

She said these were taken on Thursday, December 4, 2025 around 4:45 PM. There are three 30 second videos that I have strung together. I don't know if they are in the right order or if there is any kind of gap in time between them.

Starlink launches news for Dec 4, 2025.

Given that there was a Starlink launch at the nearby Vandenberg Air Force Base that day I'm quite certain that this is Starlink related. I would think then that when there is a cluster of lights blinking, that is the deployment of the individual satellites. Can anyone comment, and/or confirm?

The lights are just reflections of the lights on the path. Maybe vehicles, or people walking with flashlights.

Rotating the video 180°, you see that after about 30 seconds you can see the lights and the reflections sync up

What are they? I think they're LED strobes on a car.






Or maybe several bicycles/motorcycles.




I think it's probably a single car.

But, arguing for a group of bi/motor cycles, most of the lights disappear then only two remain.

But I think that's due to a quirk involving angles and/or obstructions.


Seems to be in this area north of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. This view is looking south back toward the camera on the roof of the hotel.

Perhaps creeping along in this parking lot and turning left at the end. The lights are seen through the palm trees.
