Tesla Suicide Bomber Matthew Livelsberger - UAP Related Manifesto Claims

I think instead he is talking about the growing number of John Kaczynski's we have in this country. Lone wolf. Anti establishment. Not connected.
Perhaps. In which case he should say that explicitly. Vague posting in the current information ecosystem is frankly irresponsible, especially as someone purported to represent scientifically rigorous thought.
Shermer lost it long ago. He's basically an IDW grifter.
I wasn't aware of that. Disappointing to hear.

In contrast, the idea of Livelsberger randomly renting a Tesla Cybertruck and pulling into Trump Tower is statistically implausible.
Not per se. (And why "statistically"?)

It's just hard to imagine that this is the same person who wrote the manifesto that was found on his phone—or, if it was the same person, that he was in the same mindset.

"The level of sophistication was not indicative of what we would expect from a person with this level of experience."

Wait the shit. What does that mean? Does it mean "Oooops, someone we thought ought to be smart was not so smart"? Does that mean that their expectations of smartness are misplaced? Are their expectations about other things also so obviously misplaced?
I think that's referring to the VBIED. As in, he could have made a big one, but kept it simple.
I suspect, also with the car choice, because he wanted to make a spectacle without hurting people.

Heh. Well, he appeared to be a believer.

PS: Even if the podcasters can be trusted, his Signal security number changed on the 29th, so even if we got the full email and headers the email can't be trusted as it was written from his phone.
