Have you seen this recent post from Claire Swinney - she is critical of an article about chemtrails in Organic NZ magazine for being too inconclusive, and suggests her readers write to the editor about it. I bought a copy of the magazine but found that it actually gives way too much credibility...

Thanks, I guess it's pretty easy to stick a caption on a picture like that - just pick the group of people you don't like and a vague description of them ... no need to name them or or anything - they look like they could be "syrian opposition" or "iraqi officials" so that's good enough...

I take it you are saying it's not so helpful to pigeonhole people that way? i.e. in that example, as extreme right wing (even though for that example there is a strong correlation)

It's not easy when people become entrenched in these theories, one factor is that when we are given misinformation it can tend to stick in our minds even after being corrected. Another one is "confirmation bias" where we can tend to gather information that confirms a belief and ignore...
