Lots of cameras, optical devices have infinity focus. With infinity focus distant things will appear reasonably sharp, but 3 x magnification is very limiting. Many birdwatchers use 8 x mag. binoculars.

And the point of further relevance here - the inwards force will be a multiple of the applied force. Depending on how close to straight the chain was at the start that multiple can be many times. Pure geometry of the vectors. If you start with...

Russian satellites have manoeuvred to be close to other nation's satellites before. As well as possible espionage (e.g. signals interception, jamming, maybe visual inspection) they might be rehearsing (or demonstrating) a potential anti-satellite...

A bit like that time they bumped into a wind turbine?

Maybe a long shot, but I think if it were shown that Russia has committed offenses against the USA (I'm thinking of meddling in our elections, a thing of which they have credibly been accused), then would they not be considered our "enemy" due to...

This is all extremely poor data and inadequate equipment in my opinion. Post the gps or goggle earth coordinates, if you dont want to share that, thats fine maybe just state that. You have to remember this is basically a rifle scope if aimed at...

I know you're looking up at the sky, but what is visible near ground level? Are there things like streetlights or driveway lights near your house that could account for an internal reflection in the scope?

Yes! Many different types in fact. And Russia was almost certainly doing that here. ICEYE-x36 is itself a spy satellite. "Earth observation" is a general term for ground photography, but ICEYE isn't updating Google maps or doing river surveys...

I think they are birds/bats. Not satellites (obviously). The erratic motion in the first matches bats as they hunt bugs etc and are very maneuverable. The ones in the second/third, going in a row: geese.

Speaking generally (not about any of your videos) there are several IR videos that have been looked at on this forum where small "hot" features seem to fluctuate slightly in brightness and/or size at frequencies up to maybe 10 Hz or so, e.g. in...

Thanks, but I'll pass, and for a reason that has nothing to do with the rules: I've never taken money or donations for any of this and I'd rather keep it that way. Anything with a prize attached creates a conflict of interest or the appearance of...
