That is true. But the effect is the same; any satellite would streak if it lasted more than a second. A very few real-life satellites show sub-second flashes, but these are rare, and I can't see any reason that these objects would only show... -

That would depend on their altitude - the atmosphere density decays exponenentially, and you don't have to be that far out before achieving the right to tumble for centuries. But given that we're discussing angels with retroreflective pinheads... -
