Contrails in Teacher's Climate and Weather Text Book

I saw this posted on Facebook today.

From a teacher

I had a middle school science class today/ kids are studying the weather.
This is what is in the teacher's edition of holt, rinehart, & winston "science & technology":climate & weather text book" pg. 42, teachers edition, this is on page 42:

"misconception alert!"

"contrails" - what appears to be white smoke from an airplane engine is not smoke at all.
Condensation trails, or contrails, form as the combustion of the aircraft's fuel forms water vapor, which condenses & freezes along the airplane's exhaust tail. A thick contrail that does not dissipate is a sign that a frontal system is approaching."


Great eh? Dumbing the teachers down too! This is only in the teacher's text book, and nothing in the student text for parents to review.

Also in the teacher's edition there is a "debate topic"- advanced
This says:

Cloud seeding- meteorologists sometimes use a technique known as "cloud seeding" to try to cause or increase precipitation.
"have groups of students research this technique and write a position paper about it. After students have gathered their information, have small groups debate the pros and cons of artificially stimulation precipitation."


This is not in the student text books for students or parents to review.
There is no mention of huge jets spraying toxic chemicals.
There is no mention of chemtrails.
There is no mention of "geo engineering" and weather manipulation,
No pictures.

According to the definition above... "thick contrails that do not dissipate is a sign that a frontal system is approaching."

This is what teachers are being given to teach middle school 6, 7, & 8th grades, and this is not in the student text books.

This post illustrate some of the difficulties in trying to debunk the chemtrail theory. The quotes from the book in bold, above, are 100% accurate, and something that's been accepted science for over 60 years. However the contrail theorist somehow interprets it as "dumbing down".

Some of the comments on Facebook run along similar lines:

"a frontal system is approaching" - lol what a joke. This "approaching front" has now been stalled over my head in a grey blanket for endless weeks !!
It's an AFFRONT that this doo-doo is being spoon-fed to both teachers and children right under parents' noses !! HAARP needs a FRONT-AL lobotomy and let it be done soon !

All so the military can "own the weather in 2025" ..reminds me of NASAs "Contrail Count-a-thon" for kids. Get 'em young, brainwash, like little toy Nazis. You can't even protect your own children from this. No wonder so many ppl are home schooling.

The Text Book Companies have been brain washing teachers and kids with Socialist Agendas, pushing Socialism and giving DIS- Information. Ca. Kindergarten Texts had Caesar Chavez as a Great American Hero, first, in the book, and the Founding Fathers were in the back somewhere. DIS-INFORMATION, Propaganda, and Pushing Socialism is their Agenda in Many Public School Text Books now.

Wow. I wonder why none of us learned so much about what contrails supposedly do, when we were kids.

contrails are one thing, chemtrails are another. chem-trails kill people. Called a soft kill to de-populate the masses as per Agenda 21 U.N. Treaty.

Sadly, most of the parents are clueless too. I'm 50 and I can't believe the vast majority of people my age have no clue what's going on.

What's a debunker to do? When presented with very science that does not tally with their preconceptions, they don't change their preconceptions, they reject science. They go beyond rejecting science, and actually start to claim that science is part of the conspiracy, that the things in science books are lies designed to indoctrinate the children.

I think from a debunking perspective you've got to pick your battles. People who react this way are unlikely to change their opinions. Even when confronted by the truth, by pure simple science, they will fight back to maintain their misconceptions at all costs.
 
I'm pretty sure I never learned about contrails at school. I don't even remember if there was any detail about the formation of clouds, other than the "water cycle". I don't think it's really the type of thing you'd expect anyone to know anything about.

People just don't think about things like where wind and rain actually come from. Nor should they, really, unless they are making some bold claims based on what they think they know.
